SUBJECT
Authorize Execution of Amendment to Interlocal Agreement with the Texas Department of State
Health Services for FY2006-2007 Bio-Chem Program and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to City Secretary Contract No 33235 with the
Texas Department of State Health Services (TXDSHS) increasing the existing contract from $2 500 00 to
$7 500 00 and extend the contract period through August 31 2007
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Grants Fund by $5 000 00 in FY2006-2007 subject to receipt of an executed amendment.
DISCUSSION
The Chemical Emergency Project was developed to place antidote supplies in localities throughout the
nation in advance of a terrorist event. The assets received under this program will enhance the City's
Homeland Security capability to respond to a chemical emergency and will better prepare emergency
responders to treat any patients exposed to chemicals.
This amendment increases the funding for FY2006-2007 by $5 000 00 to $7 500 00 and does not require
an in-kind match
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon acceptance and execution of the grant contract and approval of the
attached appropriation ordinance funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated of
