HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16408-05-2005Ordinance No (~o`tu$ ~rJ X05 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1000 AS DONATIONS ARE RECEIVED FROM BELL HELICOPTER, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE 'CLEAN AIR FAIR AND BIKE RALLY" KICK-OFF EVENT MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2004- 2005 in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Environmental Management Fund in the amount of $1 000 as donations are received from Bell Helicopter for the purpose of funding the 'Clean Air Fair and Bike Rally" kick-off event. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. Authorize the City Manager to accept donated sponsorships valued at $600• and 3 Adopt the supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in in the Environmental Management Fund by $1 000 to fund the 'Clean Air Fair & Bike Rally" kick-off event. DISCUSSION An additional cash donation from Bell Helicopter has been received by the Department of Environmental Management for the `Clean Air Fair & Bike Rally° event. The kick-off event for the 2005 Ozone Season was held Friday April 22 from 11.00 a m - 2.30 p m. on Main Street between Second and Fourth Streets. The event is designed to attract downtown workers during the lunch hour to increase their awareness of air quality issues and to make them aware of the ways they can - `Care for Cowtown Air The funds will be used to defray the cost of the event.
