AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE AIRPORT GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,333,333.33 SUBJECT TO
RECEIPT OF THE GRANT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE EXTENSION OF
RUNWAYS 16/34L, 16/34R, AND TAXIWAY A AT FORT WORTH ALLIANCE AIRPORT;
PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Airport Grants Fund in the amount of $1,333,333.33 subject to receipt of the grant, for the purpose of
funding the extension of Runways 16/34L, 16/34R, and Taxiway A at Fort Worth Alliance Airport.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 21457-09-2014 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of
said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Authorize Application for and Acceptance of, if Awarded, a Grant from the Federal Aviation Administration
in an Amount Up to $1,200,000.00 for the Extension of Runways 16/34L, 16/348 and Taxiway A at Fort
Worth Alliance Airport and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance (COUNCIL DISTRICT 7
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the application for and acceptance of, if awarded, a grant from the Federal Aviation
Administration in the amount of$1,200,000.00 for the extension of Runways 16/34L, 16/348 and Taxiway
at Fort Worth Alliance Airport-,
2. Authorize the use of land credits in the amount 133,333.33 for the City's in-kind local match of ten
percent of the project ; and
. Adopt the appropriation ordinance increasing the estimated receipts and appropriations in the Airport
Grants Fund in the amount of 1,333,33333, subject to receipt of the grant.
DISCUSSION:
Work for the Runway Extension Program (Program) is completed as funding becomes available through
the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), The work completed to date has been in preparation for the
extension of Runways 16L/ R, 6R/34L and Taxiway A to a length of 11,000 feet„ which will begin this
fall. Upon completion, the estimated cost for the Program will be $250,500,000.00.
Fort Worth Alliance Airport is eligible to receive Airport Cargo Entitlement funds from the FAA each
year. This is based on the amount of cargo activity from the previous calendar year and discretionary
dollars available in the Airport Improvement Program. The total amount of entitlement funds available to
Fort Worth Alliance Airport this year is an amount u 1,200,000.00.
This year the full amount of the 2015 Cargo Entitlement grant will be allocated for the Runway Extension
Program for the construction of Runways 16/34L, 16/34R and Taxiway A Extensions Project.
Existing land credits remaining from the original land donation for Fort Worth Alliance Airport will be used
for the City's 10 percent in-kind match.
The Aviation Advisory Board recommended approval of this action on May 12, 2015.
Fort Worth Alliance Airport is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7, Mapsco 7L.
