AN ORDINANCE REGULATING FISHING IN LAKE WORTa, PROHIBITING
THE USE OF SNAG LINES, TRAPS, NETS AND SEINES IN THE CATCH-
ING OF FISH IN LAKE WORM, AND SETTING A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER
OF FISH WHICH ANY ONE PERSON MAY CATCH PER DAY, AND PROVID-
ING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND PROVIDING THAT
TRIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
BE IT ORDAINED BY 233E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person fishing in Lake
Worth to use a snag line or any trot line or set line; and it shall be un-
lawful for any person fishing in said lake to use any trot line or set line
with the hooks and stagings, to which said hooks are attached, spaced less
than two feet apart; and no person fishing in Lake Worth shall set a trot
line or set line within a distance of twelve feet of any other trot line or
set line; and any staging attached to a trot line or set line, used for fish-
ing in Lake Worth, to which a hook is attached, shall be firmly attached to
said line and in such manner that it will not come closer than was intended,
and any staging on a set line or trot line so used that is closer than two
feet to another staging, to which a hook is attached on such line, shall be
prima facie evidence that such stagings were purposely spaced less than two
feet apart. It shall be unlawful for any person fishing in Lake Worth to
use a trap, net or seine in said lake and any such device found in said lake
shall be subject to seizure and destruction. However, it shall be lawful
to seine for minnows in said lake with a seine not over twenty feet in length.
SECTION II.
It shall be unlawful for any person, while fishing in Lake Worth,
to catch more than fifty fish in one day.
SECTION III.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall
be fined in any sum not less than $1.00 nor more than $100.00 for each
offense*
SECTION IV.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by
law.
