AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2173, PASSED AND ADOPTED AUGUST 42 1943, WHICH IS AN ORDINANCE AMEND- ING ORDINANCE NO. 1915, PASSED AND ADOKED MAY 200 1936, REGULATING THE OPERATION OF AMBULANCES, BY ADD- ING SECTIONS IV(d) AND IV(e) TO SAID ORDINANCE; PRO- HIBITING ANY PERSON FROM MAKING AN EMERGENCY CALL PITH AN AMBULANCE UNLESS SUCH PERSON HAS BEEN SUMMONED TO DO SO IN PERSON OR BY A TELEPHONE CALL; DEFINING TERMS; PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. SE IT ORDAINED BY TIM CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2173 be amended by adding thereto Sections IV(d) and IV(e), and, after being so amended, shall read as follows: SECTION IV(d) It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate an ambulance on any of the streets of the City of Fort North for the purpose of making an emergency call unless said person has been summoned to do so either by someone in person or by a call over the telephone. SECTION IV(e) The term "emergency call" as used in this ordinance shall be construed to mean any or all requests for ambu- lance service which are made under circumstances Which are or have been represented to be such circumstances as require ambulance service immediately. SECTION 2, This ordinance shall be declared to be cumulative of all other or- dinances of the City of Fort North regulating traffic, and shall not be construed to repeal the provisions of any of such ordinances except insofar as those provisions are in direct conflict with the provisions herein con- tained. r; AD SECTION 3. The holding or adjudication of any section or part of a section of this ordinance to be invalid shall not affect the validity of any other section or part of a section, but all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The City Council hereby declares that if it had known that any part of said ordinance was invalid it would not have passed the invalid provisions, but that it would have adopted those provisions that are valid. SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not to exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), and each violation thereof shall be and is hereby de- clared to be a distinct and separate offense and punishable as such. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by law.
