ORDINANCE NO. o6 AN ORDINANCE REFERRING BIDS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF WILSON ROAD IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, TO THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR A REPORT THEREON BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TERAS: SECTION 1• That Bids for the construction of improvements on Wilson Road, from the easterly line of Jenson Road to the Northerly line of Pyron Avenue, in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, having on the 13th day of May, 1954, been opened and read and the following persons had filed bids for the performance of such Work or part thereof, to-wit: 1. Texas Bitulithic Company, Fort Worth, Texas 2, General Construction Company, Fort Worth, Texas that such Bids be and the same are hereby referred to the Public Works Depart- ment, which is directed to cause to be promptly filed with the City Council, a report and recommendation thereon. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage. Jones Re: Paving Wilson Road., Jenson City Manager Road to Pyron Avenue. Building Dear Sir: In connection with the proposed paving of a portion of Wilson Road, from Jenson Road to Pyron Avenue, we are attaching the following documents: mrd FIs 5. Tabulation of Bids. 4 6. Ordinance referring Bids to the Public Works Department, 7. Report of the Public Works Director 8. Ordinance approving the Public Works Director's Report and 3-2Z a V awarding the Contract to Temas Bitulithic., on their base bid of $17,748.00. 9. Report of the Director of Finance. It is recommended that this project be constructed of li" Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Surface, as shown in the Base Bid, instead of Triple Asphalt Surface Treatment, as shown in the law bid as Alternate No. 3. The Asphaltic Concrete Surface is more desirable and a higher type of paving and can be swept with the City's street sweepers. Previous steps taken in connection with the project are as follows: 1. Ordinance No. 3182, Ordering the Paving was adopted by the City Council on March 3 1, 1954. 2. Report of Public Works Director approved April 28., 1954. 3. Ordinance No. 3196, approving the specifications adopted by the City Council on April 28., 1954, 4. Advertised for Bids April 30, 1954. Received Bids May 13, 1954. If the attached ordinances and reports are adopted by the City Council on Wednesday, May 19, 1954, further steps will be initiated mediately. Yours very t ., M.
