Subject: Request for Construction Speed Zone Ordinance
Honorable John Justin, Jr., Mayor
City of Fort Worth
Fort Worth, Texas
Dear Mayor Justin:
The above section of highway will be under construction in the
near future. For the safety of the public, we deem it necessary
to reduce the speed of traffic along this section. We are
requesting that an ordinance be passed reducing all speeds over
40 miles per hour to a maximum of 40 miles per hour during the
construction period.
We are transmitting herewith three (3) copies of a typical
construction speed zone ordinance for your consideration.
When the ordinance has been passed, please forward two (2)
copies, including the original, to this office. If this
ordinance is not satisfactory, we will accept an ordinance of
your own wording providing the State is given the authority to
erect and remove the construction speed zone signs.
All of your help and consideration in this matter will be
appreciated.
Yours very truly,
o
R. W. Crook S.
District Engineer
