AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING
CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A
DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE
CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City
of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and
made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being
situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds
as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line, said point being the northeast corner of East
Lancaster or U. S. Highway No. 80 and Sandy Lane;
Thence in an easterly direction along the northerly right
of way line of East Lancaster or U. S. Highway No. 80 to a point
in center of Village Creek;
Thence down the center of Village Creek with its meanderings
to a point in the present City of Arlington city limit line in
the west line of the N. Gurin Survey;
Thence north along the west line of the N. Gurin Survey and
along the west line of the J. Wilcox Survey following the City
of Arlington city limit line to a point in the south line of the
S. C. Culver Survey;
Thence west along the south line of the S. C. Culver Survey
and along the City of Arlington city limit line to the southwest
corner of said Survey;
Thence north along the west line of the S. C. Culver Survey
and along the City of Arlington city limit line to a point in the
north line of Meadowbrook Drive, said point being in the present
City of Fort Worth city limit line;
Thence west and south along the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line to the place of beginning, said tract of land con-
taining approximately 1100 acres or 1.72 square miles.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Press,
a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with
the provisions of Section 4o, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty
(30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
