— _ The Seminary South Assembly of God Church has requested that the City vacate
REED HIGHT _aa portion of the east-west alley and all of the north-south alley in Block 14,
South Side Addition, and that portion of West "Cellis Street north of Block 14,
South Side Addition, but leaving a 10.0 foot parkway between the existing
curb on I:ellis Street and that being vacated. A map is attached showing the
requested street and alleys to be vacated.
The subject rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are unimproved. The portion
of street right-of-way requested for vacation became surplus at the time West
ellis Street was realigned. If this request is granted, the vacated rights-
of-way will be platted with adjoining property and utilized as additional
yard area.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and
have no objections, provided the Applicant replats, retains the vacated
rights-of-way as easements for existing utilities and dedicates a north-south
ingress-egress easement across Lot 2. The City Plan Commission has reviewed
this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public
rights-of-way as requested. The Applicant has submitted a satisfactory replat.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject rights-of-
way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
