AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE RORTION OF HART STREET,
GOODFELLOW AVENUE, SOUTH CHILTON AVENUE, SOUTH MILAM
STREET AND SOUTH MAJOR STREET ADJACENT TO BLOCKS 34
THROUGH 38, HYDE JENNINGS SUBDIVISION, AND TRACT 36-B
OF THE S . G. JENNINGS SURVEY BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND
CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST
OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEAL'ING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EF-
FECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS :
SECTION 1.
That the following described public rights-of-way adjacent
to Blocks 34 through 38, Hyde Jennings Subdivision, and Tract
36-B of the S . G. Jennings Survey be and the same are hereby
closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as streets or public
thoroughfares of any kind or character whatever:
Goodfellow Avenue from Arkansas Lane east to
South Major Street;
South Chilton Avenue from Spur Highway, 303
south to Goodfellow Avenue;
South Milam Street from Spur Highway 303
south to Goodfellow Avenue;
South Major Street from Spur Highway 303
south to Goodfellow Avenue; and
Hart Street where it abuts Lots 14 through 20,
Block 38, Hyde Jennings Subdivision, and
Tract 36-B of the S. G. Jennings Survey.
SECTION 2 .
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to
the land in said streets is hereby, released and shall revert to
the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby, repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage.

Curtis Mathes, Jr. , et al has requested that the City vacate the public rights-
of-way adjacent to Blocks 34 through 38, Hyde Jennings Subdivision, and
Tract 36-B of the S. G. Jennings Survey as shown on the attached maps and de-
scribed below:
1) Goodfellow Avenue from Arkansas Lane east to South Major Street;
2) South Chilton Avenue from Spur Highway 303 south to Goodfellow Ave-
nue;
3) South Milani Street from Spur Highway 303 south to Goodfellow Avenue;
4) South Major Street from Spur Highway 303 south to Goodfellow Avenue;
and
5) Hart Street (separate map) where it abuts Lots 14 through 20, Block 38,
Hyde Jennings Sub., and Tract 36-B of the S. G. Jennings Survey.
The applicant owns Blocks 34 through 38, Hyde Jennings Sub. , and is joined in
the application by T. E. S. Co. , owner of Tract 36-B, S. G. Jennings Survey.
Subject rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are unimproved. If this re-
quest is granted, the Applicant intends to replat and to utilize the vacated
rights-of-way for additional building area.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and
have no objections provided the Applicant replats and provides thereon all
necessary drainage and utility easements.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of
an ordinance vacating the public rights-of-way as requested. The Applicant
has submitted a satisfactory replat.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject rights-of-way
as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
