AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF THE
ALLEY BE79M ASHCRESCENT AND SOUTH RIVERSIDE
DRIVE ISMIATELY NORTH OF MADDOX AVENUE BE
ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE TO SAID LAND.
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Fort
Worth that that portion of the alley between Ashcrescent and South Riverside
Drive immediately north of Maddox Avenue, although duly dedicated, has in
fact never been used by the public and that it is to the best interest of the
public that said portion of the alley be closed, abandoned and vacated as a
public thoroughfare and the fee to the land in said alley revert as provided
by law; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That that portion of the alley between Ashcrescent and South River—
side Drive immediately north of Maddox Avenue, being more particularly de-
scribed as follows, to wit:
A strip of land 5 feet in width by 125 feet in
length adjacent to the west line of Tract No. 2 of
the J. We Haynes Survey, and being the east 5 feet
of the existing 18 foot alley running north from
Maddox Avenue,
be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an
alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in said portion of the alley above do.
scribed is hereby released and will revert to the owners as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed,
SECTION 4e
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage.
