A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LOCAL PROJECT ADVANCE
FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OFTRANSPORTATION IN
THE AMOUNT OF $4,012,535.00 TO INCREASE VEHICLE LANE CAPACITY AT THE
BR NT IRVIN BRIDGE OVER LIL-20 INCLUDING PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth identified the need to increase capacity of the Bryant Irvin Bridge
over I.H. 20 from four lanes to six lanes to include an additional northbound left-turn lane and pedestrian
improvenients; and
WHEREAS, On Noveinber 20, 2014, the Texas Transpoilation Cornrnissioii passed Minute Order
114125 that provides for the developrnent of, and 1"unding for,the Bryant Irvin Bridge over 1.11. 20 project; and
WHEREAS, the City of.I^ort Worth desires to enter into a III,ocal. Project Advance Funding
Agree,inertt with the Texas Departni.crit of 'Transportation to construct the Bryant Irvin Bridge
project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a I.,ocal Trallsportation Project Advance
Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation in the amount of $4,012,535.00
to increase vehicle lane capacity at the Bryant Irvin Bridge over I.H. 20 including pedestrian
iniprovements.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1, Adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the execution of a Local Project Advanced Funding
Agreement in the amount of$4,012,535.00 it e Texas e art ent of Transportation for capacity
improvements to the Bryant Irvin Bridge over -20; and
2e Authorize a payment to Tx DOT in the amount of 1,273,098.00 in accordance with the Local Project
Advanced un in Agreement.
DISCUSSION:
Execution of this Local Project Advance Funding Agreement (Funding Agreement) in the amount of
$4,012,535.00 allows the Texas e rt ent of Transportation (Tx OT) to construct capacity
improvements n Irvin ri over IH-20. City participation included in this Funding Agreement
is in the amount of$1,273,098.00. These improvements inclu e dedicated left-turn lanes, additional
through Ins for a total of six through lanes, illumination, traffic signal and pedestrian improvements
(Project No. 02660).
TxDOT completed sin and is scheduled o begin construction Summer 2015. Staff will provide
construction coordination assi nc on the project as the City of Fort h will receive maintenance
responsibility for the traffic signals and intersections upon project completion.
This project is included in the 2014 Bond Program, Available resources within the General Fund will be
used to rovi interim financing for these expenses until debt is issued. Once debt associated with this
project is sold, n roc es will reimburse the General Fund in accordance i statement
expressing oici I Intent to Reimburse that was adopted as part of the ordinance canvassing the bon
election - Ordinance No. 21241-05-2014.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3 and 6, Mapsco 88H and
FISCAL INFORMATION /CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that funds are included in the Fiscal Year 2015
Adopted of the 2014 Bond Program pursuant to rinance No. 21457-09-2014 funds are

available in the General Fund to pay expenses which will be incurred on this contract until reimbursement
can occur from the issuance of public securities.
