HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16525-07-2005Ordinance No r~~ot,~-~7"~ ~~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN AN AMOUNT UP TO $12,200 AS DONATIONS ARE RECEIVED FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE 2005 HOUSING INDUSTRY SUMMIT MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS SECTION 1 That iin addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2004-2005 in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in an amount up to $12,200 as donations are received, for the purpose of funding the 2005': Housing Industry Summit. SECTION 2 That (should any portion section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction such decision opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by $12 200 00 in the Special Trust Fund for the Housing Industry Summit from available funds DISCUSSION On June 10 2004 a Steering Committee composed of the City of Fort Worth's (CFW) Housing Department, the U S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fannie Mae the Fort Worth Housing Authority (FWHA) and the CFW's Community Relations Department hosted the 1st Annual Homeownership Summit. Approximately 250 real estate professionals, lenders and industry specialists were in attendance The first conference was received very favorably by the participants, many of whom suggested that it be made an annual event. The organizers agreed renaming the conference the Housing Industry Summit. The 2005 Housing Industry Summit: Housing in the Most Liveable City was held on June 9 2005 at the Deborah Beggs Moncrief Botanic Garden featuring presentations on housing trends innovative partnerships and incentives to developers and builders. Donations have been pledged or received as follows.
