AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF 13TH STREET
BETWEEN BLOCK 36 LOTS 1 AND 4 AND BLOCK 35 LOT 2A OF
THE OF THE JENNINGS WEST ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY TEXAS, ACCORDING TO PLAT
FILED UNDER VOLUME 388-51, PAGE 4 OF THE TARRANT
COUNTY PLAT RECORDS FROM A POINT AT SUMMIT AVENUE
TO A POINT AT PENN STREET SAID PORTION BEING
APPROXIMATELY 200 FT LONG AND 30 FT WIDE AND
CONTAINING 6,000 SQUARE FEET PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND• THE RETAINMENT OF
EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
That a portion of 13th Street between Block 36, Lots 1 and 4 and Block 35 Lot 2A of the
of the Jennings West Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas, according to
plat filed under Volume 388-51 Page 4 of the Tarrant County Plat Records from a point at
Summnt Avenue to a point at Penn Street, sand portion being approxunately 200 ft long and 30 ft
wade and containing 6,000 square feet, more or less, and as more specifically descn-ibed in Exhibit
A & `B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be and the same ns vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That exnsting utihty easements shall be retained by the Cnty until such time all utilntnes located
in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 3.
That the fee to the land in the above-described street and alley nghts-of--way is released and
shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMIENDATION
It is recommended that 'the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of 13th Street between
Block 36 Lots 1 and 4 and Block 35 Lot 2A of the of the Jennings West Addition to the City of Fort Worth
Tarrant County Texas according to plat filed under Volume 388-51 Page 4 of the Tarrant County Plat
Records from a point at Summit Avenue to a point at Penn Street, said portion being approximately 200 feet
long and 30 feet wide and containing 6 000 square feet.
DISCUSSION
Ty Hilton of Teague Nall and Perkins acting. on behalf of Dana Pickling for First Presbyterian Church 1000
Penn Street, Fort Worth Texas, owner of adjacent property described above has requested vacation of
said street segment to improve the parking lot configuration and access by inter-connecting church parking
that exists on both sides of the street.
The street to be vacated shall be retained as a utility easement for any existing utilities (unless other
satisfactory arrangements are made including relocation at the applicant's expense) An acceptable replat
has been received The Department of Engineering Real Property Division has indicated that the
purchase 'fee of $1 00 has been received Reviewing City Departments expressed no issues with this
request. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its public hearing held on
June 22, 2005
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9
