Attached is a summary of vehicle allocation in the Public Works Department by division. The listing also shows the number of sedans, pickups, and other types of equipment in the department. Lastly, the summary details the vehicles taken home at night. The criteria used in determining which vehicles can be taken home at night can be summarized as follows: 1. The possibility of an emergency situation developing that would require immediate supervisory responsibility (Street and Sanitation Divisions) . 2. Number of before and after hours commitments required (Adminis- tration and Division Heads) . 3. The possibility of having better personnel utilization by minimizing home-to-work travel time, thereby reducing mileage on vehicles in the field through scheduling refinements (Engineering and Building Inspection Divisions) . Should City Council desire any additional information, it will be supplied upon request. Respectfully submitted, / n 4j R. N.
