AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT ALL THAT PORTION OF REED STREET,
QUAIL TRAIL, AND THE UNNAMED STREET LYING ALONG THE EAST SIDE
OF BLOCK 6, HANDLEY HEIGHTS SOUTH ADDITION TO THE CITY Or FORT
WORTH, TARRANr COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED;
PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That all that portion of Reed Street, Quail Trail, and the unnamed
street lying along the east side of Block 61 Handley Heights South Addi-
tion to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, as recorded in Vol.
388-F, page 95, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, within the
city limits of Fort Worth and adjacent to Lot 18, Block 6, be and the same
is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated so that hereafter the
above named shall no longer be streets or public thoroughfares of any kind
or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in said portion of Reed Street, Quail Trail,
and the unnamed street in Handley Heights South Addition above described
is hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law,
save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utili-
ties.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage.

Members of the City Council Reed Street, Quail :Trail ,
City of Fort Worth and an Unnamed Street in
Handley Heights South
Addition
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen:
The Public Works Department has received a request ffom the abutting
property owner for the closing of all that portion of Reed Street, Quail
Trail , and an Unnamed Street adjacent to Lot 18, Block 6, Handley Heights
South Addition. The City of Arlington has already closed a portion of
these streets lying within the City Limits of Arlington.
These streets are inaccessible due to the construction of Arlington Lake,
and the Public Works Department finds no objections to the closing. The
streets requested to be closed are as follows:
All that portion of Reed Street, Quail Trail , and the
Unnamed Street lying along the east side of Block 6,
Handley Heights South Addition, City of Fort Worth, as
recorded in the Plat Record Volume 388-F, Page 95 of
Tarrant County, Texas, -within the City Limits of Fort
Worth and adjacent to Lot 18, Block 6, save and except
easements be reserved for any and all existing utilities.
It is recommended that the Ordinance be adopted for the closing of the
portions of Reed Street, Quail Trail , and the Unnamed Street, as de-
scribed above.

Building in Handley Heights South Addition
Dear Sir:
The Public Works Department has received a request from the abutting
property owner for the closing of all that portion of Reed Street, Quail Trail,
and an Urmamed Street adjacent to Lot 18, Block 6, Handley Heights South Addi-
tion. The City of Arlington has already closed a portion of these streets lying
within the City Limits of Arlington.
These streets are inaccessible due to the construction of Arlington
Lake and the Public Works Department -hono objection$ to Cris-r`"i�sted closing.
The streets requested to be closed are as follows:

APPLICATION TO CLOSE PORTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS
1. The undersigned hereby makes application for the vacation, abandonment
and closing of those portions of public Streets described as follows:
Those portions of Reed Street adjacent to the South and East
lines of Lot 18 in Block 6, Handley Heights South Addition to
Fort Worth, Texas, above Elevation of 550 feet above Mean Sea
Level, and that portion of Quail Trail '.. between Lot 18 in
Block 6 and Lot 13 in Block 4, Handley Heights South Addition
to Fort Worth, Texas, above Elevation 550 feet above Mean Sea
Level.
2. Attached, marked Exhibit No. 1 is a plat of the streets sought to be
vacated and the surrounding area.
3. Applicant is the only abutting property owner.
4. Such streets should be vacated because they are not now being used by
the City, any public utilities, or the public, and would be placed to better
use if reverted to private ownership. The portions of these streets sought to
be vacated are surrounded entirely by property of Applicant and the waters of
Lake Arlington. They cannot be entered except by going through Applicant's
property or from the Lake. They are portions of streets which were thoroughfares
prior to the filling of Lake Arlington, but they now "go nowhere".
5. Attached, marked Exhibit No. 2 is the consent of the several Utilities
to the vacation and closing of the portions of the streets.

under the terms and provisions of our respective franchises with the City
of Fort Worth, Texas, those portions of the streets sought to be vacated
in the foregoing Application, do hereby consent to the vacation, abandon-
ment and closing of those portions of said streets as described in said
Application.

not have a gas line in that portion of Reed Street adjacent to the
South and East lines of Lot 18 in Block 6, Handley Heights South
Addition to Fort Worth, Texas, above Elevation of 550 feet above
Mean Sea Level, and that portion of Quail Street between Lot 18 in
Block 6 and Lot 13 in Block 4, Handley Heights South Addition to
Fort Worth, Texas, above Elevation 550 feet above Mean Sea Level,
Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.
Furthermore, Company does not offer any objections to the
closing of these streets in this addition.

feet above Mean Sea Level, and that portion of Quail Street between
Lot 18 in Block 6 and Lot 13 in Block 41 Handley Heights South Addition
to Fort Worth, Texas, above Elevation 550 feet above Mean Sea Level.
