AN 01DINANCE CLOSING VACATING AND P�.ANENTLY A-
BANDONING ALL THAT MI:TION OF EAST CATdTTON STREET
LACING EAST OF THE EAST PROPI'TY LINE OF CALHOUN
STREET AND Z'CEST OF THE H. & T. C. RAILROAD IN
TCCKERTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT NORTA TAR-
T�STOAANNDD TEXAS' DECLARING

ED THAT THE EFFECT OF THIS ORDINANCE SHAD, OPERATE
AS A QUIT-CLAIM DEED OF THE ABUTT L°TG PROPERTY OMERS
AS TO THE PORTION OF THE STREET CLOSED' PROVIDING
THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE ITRREDIATE-
LY UPON AND AFTER THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the
City of Fort Worth, that all of that portion of East Cannon
Street lying east of the east property line of Calhoun Street
and west of the H. & T. C. Railroad, in Tucxer's Addition
to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, is not now
being used as a public thoroughfare and never has been used
as such; that the public necessity and convenience demand
that that portion of said street be closed, said street being
more particularly described as follows,-to-wit:
A parcel of land out of the Tucxer's Addition to
the Ci ty of Fort Worth Tarrant County, Texas, more
fully described as follows: said parcel being all .
of that portion of East Cannon Street ging east of
the east ro erty line of Calhoun Stree and west of
the H. & f. 0. Railroad. Said parcel being a strip
of land bU feet in width and 104.75 feet in length.
WHEREAS, all of the property owners abutting and being
adjacent to said street described above and the owners and holders
of property in said addition have assented to the closing of the
said street and have petitioned the City Council in writing that
said street be closed and have assented to the closing of the
same and have accepted a reversion and repeal of any and all
rights in amto said street from the City of Fort North except
that the same shall revert one-half to each of the said pro-
perty owners abutting thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION ONE.
That the following described section and portion of
a street within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth
be and the same is hereby declared to be permanently closed
and abandoned and forever vacated for use as a public street,
highway or thoroughfare, to-wit:
A parcel of land out of Tucker's Addition to the City
of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas, more fully descri b-
ead as follows: Said parcel dieing all of that portion
of F�L8t Cannon Street lying east of the esat prop ert
line of Calhoun Street and west of the H. & T. C. lrvad.
Said, parcel being a strip of land 5U feet in width and
104.75 feet in length.
SECTION TWO.
That the permanent closing. vacating and abandoning
of the above described street is hereby declared to be a pub"
lie necessity, that this ordinance shall operate as a quit-
claim deed from the City of Fort Worth to the abutting property
owners, resigning and discharging any and all claims of the
City of Fort Forth to use the same as a public highway and
thoroughfare, but the privilege of using the same for right-
of-way purposes at any time is hereby expressly reserved by
said, for the use of the City of Fort Worth and for the use
of public utilities.
SECTION THREE.
That this ordinance shall become effective immediately
from and after its passage.
