SECTION FOUR, SECTION SEVEN, SECTION EIGHT AND TION NINE O"HE MILUAND DAIRY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH ADOPTED JANUARY 26th, 1915s AND ADDING SECTION 8A TO SAID ORDINANCE. ----------- t BE IST ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: That Section one, Subdi- vision Five; Section four, Section seven, Section eight and Section nine and Section 8A of the. Milk and Dairy Ordinance of the City of Fort Worth, adopted January 26th, 1915, be and the same are hereby amended so as to be and read hereafter a8 follows, to wit: Section 1. . . . . Subdivision 5: All persons, firms or corporations owning or using one or more cogs who sell or offer for sale or baiter any milk or milk products Within this city, shall under the provisions of this ordinance be considered a dairy and fall within the scope and meaning of this ordinance. Section 4: Hind flanks and tails of milch cows shall be kept free from any visible dirt. Udders and teats shall be wiped with damp cloth and thornughly dtted before each milking. Milking shall be done with clean, dry hands. Wet ing of hands while milking shall constitute a violation of this ordinance. 1ilk ers shall use either milk pails with partially covered tops or milking machines. Milking machine when not in use between periods of daily milking, shall be kept in a sanitary manner. Bottled milk or cream shall be capped with caps bear- . Y't ing day or date of time of filling and name of proprietor of Dairy or distributor stamped thereon. Bottled milk or creamishall not be recapped with caps bearing latex_ddyyor date of time of filling. Milk can shall be kept out of stable. No milk shall be poured from pail to pail or pail to can nor strained in stable. Milking stools shall be made of material which can be kept clean. Section 7 : All milking barns or stables in the process of construction, or to be constructed from date of this ordinance, shall be equipped with stanchions, floors of non-absorbent material with drop and gutter behind cows. The length of the stalls shell so be that cows of different sizes can be lined up so that the manure will drop in' gutter directly behind them. Stable to be made as near wind proof as possible. Having 'at least 404 cubic feet of air space for each cow, and at least two square feet of light per cow. Section 8: All retail markets, restaurant keepers, cafe or cafeterias, soda fountain keepers, eta, where milk is sold to consumers, shall be held responsible for the quality of milk sold by them. Restaurant xeepers, cafe or cafeteria keepers, soda fountain keepers, etc, where milk is sold to patrons for immediate consumption, shall deliver milk either in milk bottles or measured by milk pump or drawn frost milk fountain. _ No milk shall be sold over counter or brought to patrons for drinking purposes taken or measured by the dipper of can method. Section 8A: No person, firm or corporation shall bring for sale into the City of Fort Worth, or shall within said city sell or offer for sale, dispose of, exchange or deliver, cream (a) containing less than 18 per cent of milk fat. (b)- Unless obtained from milk produced, kept or z handled in accordance with the milk and dairy ordinance of the City of Fort Worth. BUTTER MILK. (a) Containing less than eight and one half per cent by weight of milk solids. (b) Unless it is the product that remains when fat is removed from milk or cream, sweet or sour, in the process of churning. When milk is skimmed, soured or treated so as to resemble buttermilk;( it must be known by some distinctive narne. (c) Buttermilk shall be kept in clean recep- tacles, away from any unsanitary surroundings. (d) It shall be cooled below 60 degrees. Section 9: All milk bottles, cans and utensils shall be placed on racks to aerate; said racks shall be thoroughly screened from flies and kept in sanitary condition at all times. This shall apply to rural d6ities. All persons who have the handling of milk or its products in dairies and creameries shall be vaccinated against typhoid fever and small pox. All employees handling milk or its products in creameries shall wear clean, white, washable suits. No person will be allowed to work where milk or its products are handled unless he has a certificate from the City or County Health Officer, stating that he isyfree from any communicable or veneral disease in a communicable stage. .. MEL- • SECTION 10: Any person, firm or corporation who shall do any of the acts prohibited, or wilfully neglect or refuse to do any of the acts or things enjoined by this ordinance, or in any way violates any of its provisions, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by fine of not less than $25.00., nor more than $200.00. SECTION 11: All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, or clauses in ordinances of the City of Fort North in violation of the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION la: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage Aas provided by law.
