A fourth M&C on the subject has not yet cleared the Legal Department. Wetherby: What is the cost factor of increasing street maintenance from 382 lane miles per year to 777 per year? (Santerre: Seal coating, overlay, and other maintenance. We used 1984 dollars). Lancaster: In M&C G-6418, Item three referring to emergency maintenance, is this an objective or subjective decision? Santerre: In borderline situations it is a subjective decision). You would fill potholes? (Santerre: Yes) Lancaster: What about dead-end streets? (Santerre: Those would be rebuilt with concrete.) Williams: M&C G-6418 states ". . .unless it is in the City's best interest to utilize another material", but G-6419 does not. Isn't this a contradiction? (Santerre: That was an oversight. Both G-6418 and G-6419 should state ". ..unless it is in the City's best interest"). 2) Contracting Street Maintenance (CP-120) Wetherby: This may help us to do repairs and maintenance on time, which would save us money. Santerre: We think this will work, if we do it right. 3) Report from the Fort Worth Commission on the Status of Women The report was explained by several Commission members. Wetherby: When you meet with other people, stress the importance of attending the committee meetings that they serve or will serve on. Marchant: We encourage people to attend several of the committee meetings that they are interested in before applying for membership. This way they can make sure it is the committee they really want to serve on. rI C-IIuUIR. 1 1 PICCI.1IIU August 27, 1985 Page 2 .,.. P Nosed Adjustment of Accident ancT Yrfen se Report Charges (I.R. No. 7049) Vance: Do we have a breakdown of who gets these reports? (Boswell : Not specifically, but the majority go to insurance companies). Garrison: Are we trying to pay for the whole cost of a job that must be done regardless of whether anyone wants copies? (Boswell : No, in fact we did not figure in all the costs related to producing the the reports. 5) Project IIE.L.F.II (I.R. No. 7050) Bolen: Will we reduce legal size documents that come to us from the outside down to letter size? (Phillips: That is an alternative). This item will be placed on a future agenda for further discussion. 6) Pioneer Days Street Closings and Admission Fees (M&C G-6421 ) Harman: J.R. Stone has changed his position on closing Ellis Avenue, and now will accept the closing as proposed by the Pioneer Days Committee. Becker: Closing Ellis Avenue will give us three exits from the area instead of one. This will enhance the safety of the people attending the event. Bolen: Is traffic in agreement? (Cooper: We can accept it). Is fire in agreement? (McMillen: Yes). Is police in agreement? (McDonald: No. We have seven concerns about the proposal ). We can discuss this further on the floor.
