AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE NE-RGER OF THE
BOARD FOR CORRECTING INSANITARY CONDITIONS
IN SLUM AND NEGLECTED AREAS CREATED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 3069 AND THE BOARD FOR RELIEVING
VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE CITY OF.SUBSTANDARD
LIVING UNITS CRATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 3070.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
SECTION 1.
That the board for correcting insanitary conditions in slum
and neglected areas created by Ordinance No. 3069 and the board
for relieving various sections of the City of substandard living
units is hereby merged as one board.
SECTION 2.
This board shall consist of thirty (30) members nominated
by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and from the membership
an executive committee of ten (10,) shall be selected. The tenure of
office of each member shall be for two (2) years unless that tenure
shall expire by reason of death, resignation, inability to serve, or
by removal in the way and manner provided in Section 3, Chapter XIX
of the City Charter, for removal of a member of the Recreation
Board. Any vacancy in the membership of the Board shall be filled
for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment.
SECTION 3.
The purpose of this board shall be to make a survey of the
entire City of Fort Worth to determine the location of areas with
existing insanitary conditions, and to make recommendations to the
City Council at such times as it may deem appropriate to effect
measures that will relieve the City of insanitary conditions as
near as reasonably possible and to do away with substandard living units
in the City.
SECTION 40
The board shall elect its own chairman, vice-chairman
and secretary and adopt its oUm rules as to the time and place
of its meetings.
SECTION 5.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed„
SECTION 6,
This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained,
