AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT RETTA STREET FROM
THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY
121 TO NIES STREET AND NIES STREET FROM THE
WEST LINE OF TRACT 267, A. McLEMORE SURVEY,
EASTWARD TO THE WEST LINE OF CHANDLER STREET
BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING
FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Retta Street from the south right-of-way line
of State Highway 121 to Nies Street and Nies Street from
the west line of Tract 267, A. McLemore Survey, eastward
to the west line of Chandler Street be and the same are here-
by closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as streets
or public thoroughfares of any kind or character whatever,
save and except that easements are reserved for any and
all existing utilities and required drainage.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said streets is hereby released and shall re-
vert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

`Ajptting property, which proposes to vacate Retta Street in the 200 block a width
of 50 feet and a length of approximately 90 feet from the south right-of-way line
�A of State Highway 121 to Nies Street and to vacate Nies Street in the 2900 - 3000
blocks a width of 50 feet and a length of approximately 417 feet from the west
line of'Tract 267, A. McLemore Survey eastward to the west line of Chandler Street
as shown on the attached maps.
The subject rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are open, paved and occupied
by gas, water and sewer lines and by electric and telephone facilities. Nies
Street is also utilized for drainage purposes.
The reviewing City Departments and private utility companies have no objections
to this request provided unobstructed easements are retained for existing utilitie
and required drainage, or necessary relocation arrangements are made: an emer-
gency access easement is dedicated along Nies Street to connect to Chandler Street
and the vacated rights-of-way are replatted with abutting property.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that an ordinanc
be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as requested. A satisfactory replat has
been submitted to the City staff.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as
recommended by the City Plan Commission.
