NUMBER South Alley between Lots 1, 2 and 12,
5/11/64 PZ-103 Block 3, W.J. Boaz Subdivision of Evans lot
South Addition_
It is requested that a portion of the north-south alley between Evans and
Missouri Avenues, along the east line of Lot 12 and the west line of Lots 1
and 2, Block 3, W. J. Boaz Subdivision of Evans South Addition, be closed as
shown on the attached plat. Closing of this portion of the alley is necessary
for construction of a new fire station on the near South Side to replace exist-
ing Sf.atians Five- and Seven, and the vacated property will revert to the City
as the adjacent property owner. The condemnation award deposit for purchase
of Lots 1, 2, and 12, W. J. Boaz Subdivision, was approved by the City Council
on May 4, 1964 (M&C L-388).
Private utility companies and the City Departments affected have been contacted,
and offer no objections to the proposed alley closing, provided easements are
retained for existing utilities until they are relocated at City expense. One
of the existing utility lines is a 6" sanitary sewer and the other is a Texas
Electric Service Company line.
The City Plan Commission reviewed the proposed alley closing on April 8, 1964,
and recoumended that the City Council adopt an ordinance closing this portion
of the alley.
