COUNCIL MEETING
1 . Items Continued or Withdrawn
a. Z-90-112 and Z-90-121 were continued for 30 days.
1 . Most speakers believe Z-90-121 is too broad with too many
inconsistencies. Board of Realtors offered to assist with
drafting C6 new language. Board of Adjustments requesting
more time to study the ordinance and its impact upon their
activity.
2. G-8861 (Amendment to Tax Abatement Policy) was approved with Gilley
and Zapata voting no. Their concern was over the fact that the policy
puts requirements on the private sector to use Fort Worth firms when
the City does not have the same requirements on itself -- November
worksession topic??
3. P-4507 ( Installation of UST Equipment for City Services) was denied
and will be re-bid -- Zapata voting no.
4. C-12552 (Zoo Contract) was approved with amendments following a
lesson in the Rules of Order.
a. Zoo Assoc. must provide proof of funds prior to new
construction
b. Council must approve before Zoo Assoc. can file for alcoholic
beverage permit.
c. No exhibit can' be closed for more than 1 mo. without Council
approval .
d. M/WBE section.
e. Within 120 days, city shall undertake a comprehensive parking
study to determine appropriate parking plan.
f. Provision for the city to seek declaratory judgement as to
whether or not contract subject to competitive bid
requirements.
5. Citizen Presentations
a. Linda Austin requesting that Code Enforcement assist owners in
contacting organizations willing to take over sub-standard
properties.
