AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF THE 600 BLOCK OF HAYS STREET BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTER- EST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS : SECTION 1. That the following described portion of Hays Street be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently va- cated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever: All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land out of Block 160, City of Fort Worth, in the W. H. Little Survey, Abstract ##945, and being a portion of Hays Street more particularly de- scribed by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in an east line of Hays Street which bears east 60 feet and south 50 feet from the most westerly southwest corner of a tract conveyed to Universal Sheet Metal Company by deed recorded in Vol. 4308, page 455, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas; Thence with said east line of Hays Street, south 15 degrees 39 minutes east 102 .2 feet to an iron rod and south 80 feet to a metal spike; Thence north 30 degrees 00 minutes west 55 .4 feet to a point and north 130 .4 feet to the place of beginning, containing in all 0.07 acres of land more or less . SECTION 2. That the interest of the City Of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage . Abandonment of a portion of 19HONry the street right-of-way will improve the alignment and also permit the expansion of an existing industry. The property owner has agreed to replat the abandoned street and adjacent property in advance of construction of expanded plant facilities. Private utility companies and City departments have reviewed the request and do not object to the proposed vacation. The City Plan Commission has reviewed the proposed vacation and recommends adoption of an ordinance that has been prepared vacating the portion of Hays Street as requested. The replat was submitted by the property owner and has been accepted by the Plan Commission. City Council action on the Plan Commission recommendation is requested. JLB:fk Attach.
