AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 3, SANDERS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH) AND PRO- VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the north-south alley in Block 3, Sanders Addition to the City of Fort worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or character what- ever. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort worth in the fee to the land in said alley is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent awner of the fee as provided by law, save and except that the alley is retained as an easement. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Carter Foundation, owner of adjoining property, has requested the City of Fort Worth to close and vacate the north-south alley in Block 3, Sanders Addition, as shown on the attached map, Closing of the alley will permit consolidation with the adjoining property and benefit future development. Private utility companies and City departments have reviewed the request and do not object to the proposed vacation, provided that the alley is retained as an easement for existing utilities. The City Plan Commission has reviewed the request and recommends adoption of an ordinance that has been prepared, vacating the alley as requested, subject to retaining it as a utility easement.
