ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING REPAIR WORK
ON VEHICLES ON STREETS IN THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TSKAS; EKnNING TERAS; PRO-
VIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT MM EWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND PROVIDING
THE EFMTIVE DATE BEREOF.
Vim, serious congestions of traffic, automobile collisions,
and personal injuries resulting therefrom are imminent in the City of
Fort Worth and its suburbs on account of the hazards created by
persons doing repair work on vehicles on the streets of the City of
Hort Worth, and immediate regulation is required for the greater
protection of the public in general to minimize and eliminate said
hazards, NOW, TMUMFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SMTION I.
The following definitions are hereby adopted and declared for the
construction of this ordinance:
a. The word "street" shall mean and embrace every way or
place of whatever nature open to the use of the public,
as a matter of right, for purposes of vehicular traffic,
and shall include the parkways adjacent to the traveled
portion of such ways; said word "street" shall be con-
strued as including all the traveled way and all the
adjacent parkways, extending from private property line
to private property line.
be The word "vehicle" shall mean all trailers, buses, trucks,
vans, cars, automobiles, and other types of trackless con-
veyances.
ce The temn "repair work" shall mean any nature of work upon
said vehicles, including, but not being limited to, motor
repairs, body repairs, and greasing said vehicles; but said
team as used in this ordinance shall not include such emergency
repair work as may be necessary to allow a damaged or stalled
vehicle to be moved to a place other than the streets of the
City of Fort Worth.
SECTION II.
It shall be unlawful for any person to do any repair work upon
any vehicle on any street in the corporate limits of the City of Fbrt Worth.
SECTION III.
This ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be cumulative
of all other ordinances of the City of Fbrt Worth affecting traffic on
Its streets and shall not operate to repeal or affect any such ordinance
or ordinances, except in so far as the provisions of such ordinance or
ordinances are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, in which
instance or instances such conflicting provisions shall be and they are
hereby repealed.
SECTION IV.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall,
upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sun not to exceed Teo Hundred
and no/100 Dollars ($200.00), and each violation thereof shall be and is
hereby declared to be a distinct and separate offense and punishable as
such•
SECTION V.
This ordinance shall take effect, and be:in full force and effect,
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
