AN ORDNANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF THE
PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY ALONG THE SOUTHERLY
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF CAMP BOWIE BOULEVARD IN
THE 6800 AND 6900 BLOCKS BE VACATED, ABANDONED
AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF
THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN
SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described portion of the public
right-of-way along the southerly right-of-way line of Camp
Bowie Boulevard in the 6800 and 6900 blocks be and the same
is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a
public right-of-way, save and except that an easement is re-
served for any and all existing utilities:
Part of the Hays Covington Survey, Ab-
stract No. 256, situated in the southwest
part of Fort Worth, in Tarrant County, Texas,
and embracing part of the 1-119/1000 acres
40 foot wide strip referred to as along the
north side of Plot "A" described in the deed
to N-M Properties, Inc., and Hines & Company,
recorded in Vol. 4158, page 657, of the Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas, more particu-
larly described as follows:
Commence at the northwesterly corner of
said 1-119/1000 acres tract, being at the
intersection of the easterly line of Floyd
Drive and the southerly line of Camp Bowie
Boulevard, and then run north 63 degrees 28
minutes east along said line of Camp Bowie
Boulevard 4 feet to a point for the northwesterly
and beginning corner of the tract being de-
scribed;
Thence continuing north 63 degrees 28
minutes east along said southerly line of
Camp Bowie Boulevard 915-1/10 feet;
Thence south 26 degrees 32 minutes east 20
feet;
Thence north 63 degrees 28 minutes east
300 feet to a point in the easterly line
of said 40 foot wide strip and the westerly
line of Wellington Road;
Thence south 26 degrees 32 minutes east
along said westerly line of Wellington Road
20 feet to the southeasterly corner of said
40 foot wide strip;
Thence south 63 degrees 28 minutes west
along the southerly line of said 40 foot wide
strip 1215-1/10 feet;
Thence north 26 degrees 32 minutes west
40 feet to the place of beginning, and con-
taining 42,604 square feet.
Part of the Hays Covington Survey, Ab-
stract No. 256, and of the E. Wilburn Survey,
Abstract No. 1679, situated in the southwest
part of Fort Worth, in Tarrant County, Texas,
and embracing the 40 foot wide strip of 36,744
square feet referred to as along the north
side of Plot "B" described in the deed to
N-M Properties, Inc., and Hines & Company,
recorded in Vol. 4158, page 657, of the Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas, more particu-
larly described as follows:
Beginning at the northwesterly corner of
said Plot "B" in the southerly line of Camp
Bowie Boulevard at its intersection with the
east line of the right-of-way of the Texas and
Pacific Railway Company;
Thence north 63 degrees 28 minutes east
along said southerly line of Camp Bowie Boule-
vard 911-4/10 feet to the northeasterly corner
of said 40 foot wide strip;
Thence south 26 degrees 32 minutes east
along the easterly line of said 40 foot wide
strip 40 feet to its southeasterly corner;
Thence south 63 degrees 28 minutes west
along the southerly line of said 40 foot wide
strip 925-3/4 feet to its southwesterly corner
in the west line of said Plot "B" and said
east line of railway right-of-way;
Thence north 6 degrees 48 minutes west
along the west line of said 40 foot wide strip
42-5/10 feet to the place of beginning, and
containing 36,744 square feet.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the
fee to the land in said public right-of-way is hereby re-
leased and shall revert to the adjacent owners of the fee
as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after the date of its pas-
sage.

N-M Properties, Inc. and Hines & Co. , owners of all abutting property, have
requested that-the- City vacate a surplus strip of right-of-way along the
southerly right-of-way line of Camp Bowie Boulevard in the 6800 and 6900
blocks as shown on the- attached map.
The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is not paved. Sufficient
right-of-way has been retained for future widening of Camp Bowie Boulevard
from Highway 80-east--toward the West Freeway. If this request is granted,
the vacated right-ofA�aay-will be platted with adjoining property and utilized
for additional offstreet parking area. City departments and private utility
companies have reviewed this request and have no objections, provided the
Applicant replats and retains the vacated right-of-way as an easement for
existing utilities.
The City Plan Commissiorr has reviewed this request and recommends adoption
of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested. The Applicant
has submitted a satisfactory replat.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject right-
of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
