HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16460-05-2005Ordinance No AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,330 AND THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $36 150 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING AMENDMENT NO 1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO 29785 WITH TRANSYSTEMS CORPORATION CONSULTANTS FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES TO SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION CONTRACT LXIX (69) VILLAGE CREEK DRAINAGE BASIN MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2004-2005 in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $20,330 and the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $36 150 from available funds for the purpose of funding Amendment No 1 to City Secretary Contract No 29785 with Transystems Corporation Consultants for additional services to Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract LXIX (69) Village Creek Drainage Basin SECTION 2. That should any portion, sectioh or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction such decision opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 16061 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption AP R D AS T~ AND LEGALITY i Assistant City Attorney ADOPTED AND EFFECTIVE. City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication COUNCIL ACTION Approved on 5/31/2005 Ord #16460-05-2005 DATE Tuesday May 31 2005 LOG NAME. 30ENCHBAY 1 REFERENCE NO *C-20768 SUBJECT Adopt Appropriation Ordinance and Authorize Execution of Amendment No 1 to City Secretary Contract No 29785 with Transystems Corporation Consultants for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation LXIX Village Creek Drainage Basin RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council• 1 Authorize the transfer of $56 480 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $20 330 and the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $36 150• 2 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriation in the Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $20 330 and the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $36 150 from available funds, and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No Transystems Corporation Consultants for additional services LXIX Village Creek Drainage Basin in the amount of $56 480 to $305,264 DISCUSSION 1 to City Secretary Contract No 29785 with to Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract thereby increasing the total contract amount On January 20 2004 by M&C C-19937 the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an engineering agreement with Transystems Corporation Consultants for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract LXIX Village Creek Drainage Basin to prepare plans and specifications for a fee not to exceed $248 784 Amendment No 1 provides for the design of an additional 1 340 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer along David Strickland Road Vista Farley Road and Laster Road The sanitary sewer will connect to a lift station located at the nearby Waterfront at Enchanted Bay development, which will provide service to the residents in the Sun Valley neighborhood This amendment also includes the design for the replacement of approximately 2,500 linear feet of existing water line in Kay Drive to allow installation of a new 54-inch sanitary sewer line. and the acquisition of 12 easements for the project. The engineer will also design three junction structures to connect between the two existing large diameter sewers to facilitate future maintenance These services were not included in the original contract and are the result of further detailed evaluation by the engineer at City staffs request.
