WILLAIMS AND THOS J. POWELL , AND REGULA- TING THE BEEPING AND HANDLING OF GASOLINE BENAINE ,NAPUTHA,AM SIMILAR VOLATILE AUB- STANCEB,AND GUN-POWEER � D PROHIBITING THE KEEPLNG OR HANDLING OF LIQUID NITRO- GLYCERINE WITH IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT NORTHm AND REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDRES, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATI .N OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDIINED BY THE BOARD OF COIWISSZONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION I . THAT; from and after the passage of this ordiSance no more th4n fifty pounds of gun powder of dynamite or simi- lar expjj)sives, taken in the aggregate shall be kept or per- mitted to be kep#, stored or permitted to be stored upon the premises of any person, firm or corporation with in the City of Fort Worth. SECTIZ II . From and after the passagebof this ordinance it shall be unlawfdl to keep , handle , store , restive or transport in or through the corporate limits of t7Ae City of Fort Worth linquid- nitro- glycerine in any quahtt#y whatsoever, and any person frim or corpoaation so offending shall be punished, upo# con- victi6m thereof, as hereinafter ]prescribed. SECTION III. That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporattLon to store or keep on hand at any one time or in any one buMigg inthe City of Fort Worth, under their control or occup9ed by them, or any one of them, a quantity exceeding 10 gallons of gasOline, benzine naphtha or similar volatile liquid or substance , SadLd quantity shall be kept in 5 gallon cans properly sealed; propided that not tkeeeding 5 gallons may be kept in 6pen receptacles when same are kept more than twenty feet await from an artificial light ; and Provided further that such open receptacle shall not be kept or permitted to remain indide of any building after dark or at night but such open receptacle shall be stored as here inafter provided for lagioEr quantities of smae. provided, however , that now more than 110 gallons of gasoline, benzine ., naphtha or similat volatile substance may be kept in a heavy metal tank or tanks used for the purpose on toe putside of anit 30 feet removed from any building; if buried underground or if stored in a fireprodf building or Vault constructfid of solid masonry, used exculsively for s[Lid purpose , sfach building or vault to be providdd with Standars Fire Homos and a 2 inch Vent Pipe extendazg from a point 6 inches abobe the floor to apoint no- less than 10 feet above the rood of such build— ing or vault , and provided with short return bend and fine wire screen at top , duch tahk or tanks shall nitt be filled nor shall demffivery be lade be made therefrom, not shall any of said substance be handled at any time by artifical light and under no circumstances after sundown of any day. SECTION IT. Any person, firm of corporation violating any pro— vision of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be fined un any sum ndt to exceed one huudred dollars amd each day such substance is kept imax contrary to the provisions, ornany one provision, hereof, such violation shall constitute a separate offOnse , and be punishable as such, all ordinances and pacts of o rdinare s in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION V. This ordinances shall be in force and tal effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
