(d) The tarn "sidewalk” shall mean that part
of the highway or mark for the use of pedestrians.

(1) The term "drivar" shall mean any person

shall mean a system of controlling traffic, both vehicular
and edestrian by the use of lights as follows: Red

:__ent until the green light is displayed, which mew_- s for

PEDESTRL'.-"". Pedestrians must avoid careless

and keep off roadway except when crossing.
(c) Cross roadway at right ancrles, (never
diagonally) and if reason-,bly r,ossible on a crosswalk

lic entrance.

SECTION III
DRIVERq OF VEHICLES. The f ollowir-, regulat i ons
for vehicles (including street cars in so far as their being

SECTION IV
Any erson who shall violate any of the ro-
visi ons of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misde-
1._eanor and upon conviction thereof shall be -unished by
a fine not exceeding •;100.00.

shall constitute a separate offense.
SECTION VI
The present crowded and congested condition of
the traffic on the streets, highways anc? portions of streets
and highways hereinbefore mentioned, and the constantly in-
creasing vehicul:Lr and pedestrian traffic in the City of
Fort ', orth creates a den-erous condition and menace to life
.and property, thereby making it imperatively necessary to
adopt and enforce the regulaticne herein prescribed, and
this ordinance is and is hereby declared to be an emergency
measure necessary in the ordinary course of the city' s
affairs, and a measure necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the -oublie -Peace, health and safety of the
citizens of the City of Fort '..orth, and shall be in force
and effect from and after its arse and five day' s publi-
cation

SECTION VII
The holding or adjudication of any section or
sub-division of any section, or any part of any sub-division
of a section of this ordinance to be invalid shall not
-affect the .°alidity of any other section, or part of a

SECTION VIII
This ordinance is hereby deolared to be cumu-
�_ I-live of all of '-he r)rovi si ons of ordinances
and 6overnin� pedestrian and vehicular traffic upon and
along the streets of the City of Fort -.."orth and shall not
be held to repeal any of thn provisions of any of such
ordinances, except in '-hose instances where such ordin✓nces
-.re in direct conflict with the express - rovisions of this
ordinance.
SECTION IX
This ordinance shall become effective as to
all streets and -portions of struts herein provided, frcm
and after its passage and five mow;*' s X ublic wt ion as pro-
vided by law.
