AN ORDINANCE TO AMID SECTIONS 2, 13, 25,
31, 34, 42, 54 and 58 OF ORDINANNCE 30. 421 PASSED
BY THE BOARD OF COISTISSIONERS ON THE 11TH DAY OF JULY,
1914, THE SA.'IE BEING COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE TRAFFIC
ORDIDANCE, AND PASSED FOR THE FUR20SE OF n
REGULATING THE OPERATION OF VEHICLES
ON THE STREETS AND iUBLIC .THOROUGH-
CFARES OF CITY OF FORT WORTH.

SECTION I
The Sections hereinafter named of Ordinance
421 be, and the same are hereby amended so as to read as
follows:
Seotion 2:- " A vehicle, excVpt when passing
a vehicle, shall keep as near the right hand curb as possi-
ble, and on all streets laid with double tracks for street
oars, such street cars shall be run on the right hand track,
except that portion of "nest Seventh Street lying between
Penn Street and the Atlington Heights Bridge on which the
street car company shall have six months from and after the
taking effect of this Ordinance in which to make the nea-

essary changes of tracks to comply herewith."
Section 13:- " Drivers of motor driven vehicles
and street oars shall, when approaching a crossing or
rounding a curve or corner on a public street, make such
signals .as may be necessary to give proper warn] to
other vehicles and to pedestrians of their approach."
Section 25:- Every owner.of a motor driven
vehicle shall register such vehicle with the Assessor
and Collector of City Taxes once a year, and receive
from said Assessor and Cv$Isotor a license number The
registration fee shall be h-o0 per year. This license
number shall be the same number under which said vehicle
is registered in the bffiJ of the County Clerk of Tar-
rant County, Texas, and^sMll be placed on the Dow of
such vehicle in a conspicuous place such that the view

Section 31:- " All street cars shall stop on
the near side of intersecting streets within the corpo-
rate limits of the City of Fort Worth, except as herein-
after provided.
South bound street cars at Third and Main Streets
shall slow up and signal on the near side of the street,
and then are permitted to stop on the far side of the

street in.,front of the Traction Company's Office for
the purpose of letting off and taking on passengers.
Cars at Tenth and Houstdn Streets, North gain and Central
Avenue, North blain and Twentieth `Streets, North Main and ;�<
FA.change Avenue, Henderson Street and Pensylvania Avenue
may stop at far side of intersecting streets, but shall
signal and slow up before passing over streets, but cars
shall not be required to stop at all at the intersection
of West Fifteenth Street and the North incline of Jennings
Avenue V iaduct .
Further cah may, for the convenience of the
public, be stopped for the purpose 'of taking on or let-
ting off passengers at points that are designated and

marked ' Cars stop on Signal: Provided,
Further that zo street car shall stand over
fifteen (15) minutes in any one block within the corporate
limits of the City of Fort Worth."
Section 34:- " All motor driven vehicles
operated within the corporate limits of the City of Fort
North shall use dimmers on their headlights, or adjust
such lights in such manner that they will not shine bright-
er then eight candle power, provided that motor driven ve-
hicles whose lights cannot be regulated down, may be -driven
with side=lights which shall be of au-oh intensity that they
will be visible three hundred feet ahead of approaching
vehicles, and all interurban care while operating West of
the West line of Pine Street within the corporate limits of
the City of bort Worth shall dim their headlights such that

they will not exceed eight candle power. " --
Section 42:- " Between the hours of 8
a. m. and 6:30 p. m., except on Sundays, no vehicle®
shall be allowed to stand for a period in excess of
forty-five minutes on Blain or Houston Streets between
Weatherford Street on the North and Front Street on the
South; provided, however, vehicles which stand on a block
forty-five minutes or less, and is thereafter moved and
returned to the same bock within twenty minutes, the
time which it stands efter returning shall be added to
the time which it previously stood in determining the vio-
lation of this ordinance; and, Provided, further that on
Main or Houston Streets, between the North line of Weath-
erford

erford Street and the north line of Front Street, no vehi-
ole shall be stood thereon for the purpose of sale or hire.
Between the hours of 8 a. m. amd 6:30 p. m., except on

Sundays, no vehicle shall be allowed to stand nearer than
twenty-five feet to any street intersection for a period
in excess of forty-five minutes, between Weatherford Street
on the North and Front Street on the South, the West line
of Commerce Street on the East and the East line of Tgrock-
morton Street on the test."
JA Section 54:- " Street care shall, upon signal,
stop at street intersections and at right hand intersecting
sections of streets in the direction the car is moving, and
at designated and marked stops for the purpose of taking on
or discharging passengers; but no part of any street car
shall be stopped so as to obstruct traffic on any intersect-

ing street, except when such stops shall be necessary
for the purpose of protecting life or property. krovided,
further,
That nothing in this section shall be so con-
strued as to prevent the street car company from operating
a double-header service consisting of two or more cars
running on the same schedule of a ling, which will per-
mit the stopping of cars at such points as will equalize
the `loading of the care."
Section�lk8:- " The money derived from the
registration of automobiles, vehicles and licenses shall
be turned over to the Tolioe Department, and one-half of
the money derived from the sale of driver's licenses, over
and above the cost of dssuing licenses, shall be turned over
to the Folice Departmilnt, and all of it shall be used to
help defray the expense of placing more traffic and motor-
cyold, officers on duty for better enforcement of the traffic
laws. One-half of the money derived from the sale of driver's
lincenses, over and above the cost of issuing licenses, shall
be used for marking dangerous turns, keeping the street clear
of glass, iron scraps, wire, crockery, etc."
SECTION II
All Ordinances, and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herwtith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III
This Ordinance shall take effect, and be in force
