GRANTING THE FORT WORTH BELT RAILWAY COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE RIGHT AIM FRANCHISE TO EXTEND ITS RAILWAY TRACKS AND MAINT:_IN AND CONSTRUCT SAME OV.,,R CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth, Tess, that Ordinance No. Z! p_, hereto- fore passed by the Board of Commissioners -of the City of Fort Worth, on the day of _ 1920, be amended to read as follows, to-wit: 1. That the right, privilege and franchise is hereby given and granted to the Fort Worth Belt Railway Company, a corporation, its successors and assigns, for a period of 25 years, to construct, maintain and operate an extension of its present line of railway, beginning at the terminus of its present line of railway on 21st street, at the West line of North Commerce Street; thence West along 21st Street to a point 20 feet east of the East line of N. Blain Street; also beginning at the intersection of the N. line of 21st Street with the alley through the center of Block 175 of the M. G. Ellis Addition to the City of North Fort Worth; thence North in said alley to a point 850 feet North of the North line of 21st Street, a total distance of Less than one mile, being more psrticul rly shown by a drawing of s° id line of rai lwaV tracks heretofore attached and made a part of this ordinance, with the right, privilege and franchise to maintain and operate said line of railway for the purpose of operating steam cars and trains thereon and thereover as an extension of said Belt line or switch line of railway tracks. 2. 2. This franchise is granted upon the condition that the grantee, its successors and assigns, will lay and construct said tracks in such a manner as to conform to the grade of the streets over which it passes as fixed and established by the City of Fort Worth, and that it will construct said tracks of first-class material and keep and maintain the same in like manner and re- store the streets after the construction of same to such a con- dition as will not impede or interfere with public travel. 3. The Fort Worth Belt Railway Company, its successors and assigns, shall be bound to pave said streets above mentioned from time to time, or so much of same as is occupied by its tracks, and for eighteen (18) inches on each side thereof, with such material and like material as that with which the streets may be paved. 4. The Fort Worth Belt Railway Company, its successors and assigns, furthermore agree to indemnify and hold the City of Fort Worth harmless against all costs, injuries or damages which may be occasioned as a result of the construction, main- tenance and operation of its said lines on said streets. 5. That the said Fort Worth Belt Railway ComparW, shall file its acceptance of this franchise ithin 30 days from the passage hereof. 6. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from the day of its passage.
