AN ORDINANCE INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT OPERATING FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000 AND
DECREASING THE UNRESERVED UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE BY THE
SAME AMOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A TRANSFER TO THE
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROJECT FUND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
2005-2006 STREET SWEEPING PROJECT MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS'
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2005-
2006 in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Environmental Management Operating Fund in the amount of $200 000 and
decreasing the unreserved undesignated fund balance by the same amount, for the purpose of
funding a transfer to the Environmental Management Project Fund for the Fiscal Year 2005-2006
Street Sweeping Project.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid
inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or
judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this
ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be incorporated into the ordinance of the municipal government of the City
of Fort Worth for the ensuing Fiscal Year beginning October 1 2005, and ending September 30
2006 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances
where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and
appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption

Approval of Appropriation Ordinance to Transfer Funds for FY 2005-06 Street Sweeping Program
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations in the Environmental
Management Operating Fund by $200 000 00 and decreasing unreserved undesignated fund balance by
the same amount;
2. Approve the transfer of $200 000 00 in undesignated funds from the Environmental Management
Operating Fund to the Street Sweeping Project in the Environmental Management Project Fund and
3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Environmental Management Project Fund by $200 000 00
DISCUSSION
On March 18 2003 (M&C C-19512) the City Council approved City Secretary Contract Number 28572 with
Infrastructure Services Inc. for street sweeping at specific locations. The contract was for one year with the
option for two one-year renewals. The Transportation and Public Works Department has executed the final
renewal year and the Environmental Management Department must appropriate and transfer the funds
necessary for this contract.
Funding for this project is provided by the Environmental Management Department ($200 000) and the
Transportation and Public Works Department ($19 575) which will be allocated from their operating fund

The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance funds will be available as appropriated in the Environmental
Management Project Fund
