AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF CAMP BOWIE BOULEVARD RIGHT-OF-WAY 19 FEET IN WIDTH AND 308 FEET IN LENGTH BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS : SECTION to That the following described portion of Camp Bowie Boulevard right-of way be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever: BEGINNING at a point in the Southerly right- of way line of Camp Bowie Boulevard, said point being N. 63" 30= E. , 126.00 feet from the point of intersection of said Southerly line of Camp Bowie Boulevard with the Easterly line of Clayton Road; THENCE N. 19.00 feet along the Westerly line of that 19.00 foot strip to be vacated by the City- of ityof Fort Worth to a point for corner in the new right-of-way, line of Camp Bowie Boulevard; THENCE E. 308.00 feet along the Northerly line of said 19.00 foot strip and new right-of-way, line of Camp Bowie Boulevard to a point for corner; THENCE S . 19.00 feet to a point for corner; THENCE W. 308.00 feet to the place of beginning, and containing 5,852 square feet. SECTION 2 . That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby- repealed. SECTION 4, That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. LINE BUCKMAN Mayor and Council Communication W�RFIaf REFEREN WWA rA MON NUMBER CE SUBJECT: Vacation of a Portion of the PAGE 1/11/71 PZ-419 6450 Block Camp Bowie Blvd. (V-70-38) Iof 1 WAS Skaggs Albertson's Inc. , owner of all adjoining property, has requested that the City vacate a strip of Camp Bowie Blvd. right-of-way, 19 feet in width and 308 feet in length, as shown on the attached map. Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, was never used for street purposes. It is a portion of a 40 foot strip dedicated by the developer for a service road. Sufficient right-of-way has been retained for future widening of Camp Bowie Blvd. if desired. If this request is granted, the vacated right-of-way will be platted with adjoining property and utilized for additional offstreet parking area. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objections, provided the Applicant replats and retains the va- cated right-of-way as an easement for existing utilities. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested. The Appli- cant has submitted a satisfactory replat. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of- way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
