AN ORDINANCE VACATING A 10 FOOT WIDE PORTION OF
LOCKE STREET ADJACENT TO LOTS 25 THROUGH 40 BLOCK 28
OF CHAMBERLIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY TEXAS, AS
RECORDED IN VOLUME 63, PAGE 21, PLAT RECORDS, TARRANT
COUNTY TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN
SAID LAND; THE RETAINMENT OF EXISTING UTILITY
EASEMENTS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1.
That a portion of Locke Street adjacent to Lots 25 through 40, Block 28 of Chamberhn
Arlington Heights Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas, as recorded in
Volume 63 Page 21 of the Plat Records in Tarrant County Texas, and being 10 foot wide by 400
foot long portion contauung approxunately 4 000 square feet, more or less, and as more
specifically described in Exlu~bit A & `B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference,
be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such tune all utilities located
in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 3.
That the fee to the land in the above-described street and alley nghts-of way ~s released and
shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
BEING a 10 foot wide strip of land located within the 80 foot wide public
right of way of Locke Street lying between Block 128 and Block 152 of
CHAMBERLIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS an addition to the City of Fort Worth
Tarrant County Texas according to the plat recorded in Volume 63 Page
21 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas Said 10 foot wide strip
of land being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows
BEGINNING at a 1/2 iron rod found at the Southeast corner of Lot 40 of
said Block 128 being he existing intersection of the North right
of way line of said Locke Street (an 80 foot wide public right of
way) with the West right of way line of Sanguinet Street (a 60 foot
wide public right of way)
THENCE S 45 37 07 W 14 13 feet to a 1/2 iron rod set
THENCE N 89 20 09 W 390 78 feet along a line 10 feet South of
and parallel to the South boundary line of said Block 128 and the
existing North right of way line of said Locke Street to a 1/2
iron rod set
THENCE N 00 53 22 E 10 00 feet to a 1/2 iron rod set at the
Southwest corner of Lot 25 of said Block 128
THENCE S 89 20 09 E 400 72 feet along the existing North right
of way line of said Locke Street and the South boundary line of
said Block 128 to THE PLACE OF BEGINNING containing 3 957 square
feet of land

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the ordinance vacating a 10 foot wide by 400 foot long.

Records in Tarrant County Texas containing 4 000 square feet, more or less
DISCUSSION
Dale Apple of Dunaway and Associates, acting on behalf of John McMackin owner of adjacent property
has requested vacation of the above referenced portion of Locke Street in order to include the property
within a replat for a town home development.
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states .that the purchase fee of $633 00 has
been received
Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. The City
Plan Commission recommended approval of this vacation request at its meeting on February 23 2005
Owner will relocate any existing utilities at owner's expense An acceptable replat has been received (See
attached)
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7
