AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION
OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF 516.29 ACRES (0.806 SQUARE MILES) OF LAND, MORE OR
LESS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THE TERRITORY
ANNEXED SHALL BEAR ITS PRO RATA PART OF TAXES; PROVIDING THAT THE
INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL HAVE ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF ALL THE
CITIZENS OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL
AMEND EVERY PRIOR ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES NOT I14
DIRECT CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City
of Fort Worth, Texas, wherein all interested persons were provided
with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
territory hereinafter described, was held at the City Council
Chambers in the Municipal Office Building of Fort Worth, Texas, on
the 11th day of December, 1979, which date is not more than twenty
(20) nor less than ten ( 10) days prior to the institution of
annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published prior
thereto in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of
Fort Worth, Texas, and in the hereinafter described territory on the
26th day of November, 1979, which dale was not more than twenty (20)
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of the public hearing;
and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Fort Worth, Texas was in
excess of 367,000 inhabitants on January 1 , 1963 and in excess of
400,000 inhabitants on January 1, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the corporate area of the City of Fort Worth, Texas
was 152.580 square miles on January 1, 1963 and was 243.779 square
miles on January 1, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies within the
exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies adjacent to
and adjoins the City of Fort Worch, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory contains 516.29
acres (0.806 square miles) of land, more or less;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the following described land and territory lying adjacent
to and adjoining the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby added to
and annexed to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and said territory
hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the
boundary limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the present
boundary limits of said City, at the various points contiguous to
the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to
include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, to-wit:
BEING 516.29 acres, .located in Tarrant County, Texas, comprising
land near the southeast quadrant of the intersection of County Roads
1054 and 1035 in the Isabel Flores Survey, Abstract No. 507; J. M.
Pickett Survey, Abstract No. 1238; J. W. Haynes Survey, Abstract No.
781; Antonio Castello Survey, Abstract No. 272; J. Jennings Survey,
Abstract No. 873; J. C. Dishman Survey, Abstract No. 408; and J. H.
Duncan Survey, Abstract No. 398 situated about 10 miles
southwesterly from the Tarrant County Courthouse, and being more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for corner in the east line of the Pickett
Survey and the west line of the J. Jennings Survey which is 500 feet
southerly along said line from the southeast corner of the Ellis
Littlepage Survey, AbstracL No. 971.
THENCE South No Degrees-57 Minutes East, along said line, a distance
of 1391.2 feet to a stone for the southwest corner of said Jennings
Survey and the northwest corner of the J. C. Dishman Survey.
THENCE South 1 Degree East, continuing along the said east line of
the Pickett Survey and the west line of said Dishman Survey to and
along the northerly east line of the Haynes Survey, 2598.6 feet to a
stone for the southwest corner of said Dishman Survey and a
re-entrant corner of said Haynes Survey.
THENCE South No Degrees - 55 Minutes East, along said east line of
the Haynes Survey a distance of 515.8 feet to a I" iron for its
southeast corner in the north line of the J. H. Duncan Survey.
THENCE North 89 Degrees-48 Minutes West, along the north line of
said Duncan Survey and the south line of the Haynes Survey, a
distance of 2066.6 feet to a 1" pipe for the northwest corner of
said Duncan Survey and the southwest corner of said Haynes Survey
and the east of said Castillo Survey.
THE14CE South No Degrees - 21 ;Minutes - 50 Seconds East, along a
fence 156.7 feet to an iron pin for a corner.
THENCE North 89 Degrees - 24 JAinuLes West, along a fence 3724.65
feet to a point for corner in County Road No. 1035 and continuing
westerly to the west right-of-way line of said County Road No. 1035.
THENCE North and East, along the west and north right-of-way line of
said County Road No. 1035 to Lhe west right-of-way line of County
Road No. 1035.
THENCE South to the south right-of-way line of said County Road No.
1035.
THENCE South 89 Degrees - 23 Minutes - 25 Seconds East., a distance
of 550.3 feet leaving said road, then along a fence to a point for
corner.
THENCE North No Degrees 46 Minutes East, a distance of 399.9 feet
to a 7/811 iron rod.
THENCE North 89 Degrees 34 Minutes - 30 Seconds West approximately
550.3 feet to the west right-of-way line of County Road No. 1035.
THENCE North along the west right-of-way line of County Road No.
1035 a distance of 1601.4 feet to a 7/8" iron.
THENCE South 89 Degrees - 34 Minutes - 30 Seconds East 501.5 feet to
a 7/8" iron.
THENCE North No Degrees - 45 idinutes East 799.89 feet to a point for
corner.
THENCE East along and with a line 500 feet South from and parallel
to the center line of County Road 1054 to the point of beginning and
containing 516.29 acres of land.
SECTION 2.
Thai.. the above described territory is shown on Exhibit Map A
which is attached hereto and expressly incorporated herein by
reference for the purpose of illustrating and depicting the loca-
tions of the hereinabove described territory.
SECTION 3.
That the above described territory and the area annexed shall
be part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the property so added
hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City
of Fort Worth, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled
to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be
bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the
City of Fort Worth, Texas.
SECTION 4.
That thereafter the City Limit Line of Fort Worth shall be:
Located in Tarrant County, Texas, comprising land and part of the
Isabel Flores Survey, abstract No. 507; J. Is. Pickett Survey,
Abstract No. 1238; J. W. Haynes Survey, Abstract No. 781; Antonio
Castello Survey, Abstract No. 272; J. Jennings Survey, Abstract No.
873; J. C. Dishman Survey, Abstract No. 408; and J. H. Duncan
Survey, Abstract No. 398 situated about 10 miles southwesterly from
the Tarrant County Courthouse, and being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for corner in the present Fort Worth City limit
line which point is the southwest corner of said Jennings Survey and
the northwest corner of the J. C. Dishman Survey, in the east line
of the Pickett Survey.
THENCE South 1 Degree East, continuing along the said east line of
the Pickett Survey and the west line of said Dishman Survey to and
along the northerly east line of the Haynes Survey, 2598.6 feet to a
stone for the southwest corner of said Dishman Survey and a
re-entrant corner of said Haynes Survey.
THENCE South No Degrees - 55 Minutes East, along said east line of
the Haynes Survey a distance of 515.8 feet to a 1" iron for its
southeast corner in the north line of the J. H. Duncan Survey.
THENCE North 89 Degrees-48 Minutes West, along the north line of

SECTION 5.
That chis ordinance shall and does amend every prior ordinance
in conflict herewith, but as to ali other ordinances or sections of
ordinances not in direct conflict, this ordinance shall be, and the
same is hereby made cumulative.
SECTION 6.
That iu is hereby declared Lo be the intent of the City Council
that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of
this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence,
paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconsLitu-
Tonal by the valid judgment or decree of any court, of competent
jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall noL affect any of the
remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of
this ordinance, since Lhe same would have been enacted by the City
Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any unconsti-
LuLional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.
SECTIO14 7.
That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of iLs passage on second reading as provided for in
Section 40 of Chapter XXVIII of the Charter of Lhe City of Fort
worth and it is so ordained.

**PZ-940 Revised Time Table
On November 20, 1979 (M&C PZ-939), the City Council approved the initiation of
annexation proceedings and 'set a time table for annexation (See attached
exhibits). The Public Hearing was set for December 4, 1979. In accordance
with State statutes governing annexations, it is necessary to publish notice
of the public hearing at least 10 days prior to Council's initiation of annexa-
tion proceedings.
The Commercial Recording Co. (Fort Worth Commercial Recorder) was unable to meet
the legal publication requirements, in accordance with State statutes governing
annexations, because it was not able to publish the City's public hearing notice
on one of the following three days after Council approval of the time table.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the 'City Council approve the revised Annexation Time
Table attached.
