HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2623 ORDINANCE NO.��23 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE N0., 2048, WHICH IS AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT ALL HANDLERS OF FOOD OR MILK PAY A FEE FOR THE NECESSARY EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATE OF HEALTH REQUIRED BY ORDINANCE N0, 1271 AND ORDINANCE NO. 1832, BY INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF SUCH FEE TO TWO DOLLARS ($2.00); DECLARING THE ORDINANCE TO BE CUMMATIVE; FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THERE- OF AT A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00), WITH EACH DAYIS VIOLATION CONSTITUTING A SEPARATE OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1, That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2048 be amended to read as follows: SECTION 1. That every person who handles food in any way and is required to have a certificate of health issued by the Director of the Department of Public Health and Welfare shall pay to said Department of Public Health and Welfare the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) for such examination and the issuance of such certificate of health. SECTION 2, That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2048 be amended to read as follows: SECTION 2. All such certificates shall be valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of their issuance unless sooner revoked under the provisions of Ordinance No. 1271. The fee of Two Dollars ($2.00) as herein provided for shall be paid upon the issuance of each new certificate or any semi- annual renewal thereof. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be cumulative of all other ordinances of the City of Fort Worth pertaining to payment of a fee by a food or milk handler in securing a certificate of health is- sued by the Director of the Department of Public Health and Welfare of the City of Fort Worth, and shall not operate to repeal or affect any such ordinance or ordinances except insofar as they are in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance, in which event the terms of this ordinance shall prevail,. SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the terms of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00), and each dayts vio— lation thereof shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by law. APPROVED AS TO FO n As 'stant City Attorney
