AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIM NG THAT THE ORDINANCE OFFICIAL RECORD BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF CITY SECRETARY SECTION 40, CHAPTER r(VIII CF THE CITY CHARTER; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; FT. WORTH, TEX. PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: Section 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEIN3 a tract of land about 10 miles south from the Courthouse of Tarrant County, Texas, and lying in and including all or part of the Joseph Martin, Sarah Gray, John Steele, William Stone, Henry Lane, J. Jennings, E. H. Hamilton, J. E. Phillips, S A & M G R.R. Co., John Sise Surveys; BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, the west right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 81 (South), (Interstate I-35W) at its intersection with the south right-of-way line of County Road No. 1078; THENCE southerly, along the westerly right-of-way line of U. S. Hwy. No. 81 (South) to its intersection with the south line of Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE west, along the south line of Tarrant County, Texas, to its intersection with the east right-of-way line of the M K & T R.R. right-of-way; THENCE northerly, along the easterly right-of-way line of the M K & T R.R. to its intersection with the south right-of--gray line of County Road No. 1078; THENCE east to and along the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, the south right-of-way line of County Road No. 1078 to the place of beginning and containing approximately 1.8 square miles. Section 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in con- flict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly amends Ordinance No. 4383, heretofore adopted and passed on October 28, 1962, but as to all other ordi- nances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. Section 4. If arW section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent ,jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
