HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5323 ORDINANCE NO.63a3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-2 OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS , BEING AN ORDINANCE REGULATING SOLICITATIONS FOR CHARITABLE, PATRIOTIC, RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL OR PHILANTHROPIC PURPOSES IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A PLACE WHERE CHARI- TABLE SOLICITATION COMMISSION MEETINGS SHALL BE HELD AND PROVIDING FOR THE COMMISSION TO SET THE TIME FOR SUCH MEETINGS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 32-2 of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Fort Worth be and the same is hereby amended so that hereafter the same shall be and read as follows: "COMMISSION ORGANIZATION - The Commission shall elect a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman and a Secretary from its membership and shall adopt rules and regula- tions for the conduct of its business . Four (4) members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum for the transaction ofbusiness . Commission meetings shall be held at the City Hall at least once a month at such time as the Commission may designate, at which time applications received not less than ten (10) days prior to the meet- ing and thirty (30) days prior to the initiation of the proposed solicitation shall be acted upon. The thirty (30) day waiting period may be waived by the Commission -for adequate cause shown." SECTION 2 . This ordinance shall repeal every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, but only insofar as the portion of such prior ordinance shall be in conflict, and as to all other sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance shall be and is hereby made cumulative . r � SECTION 3 .
