AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF HUGHES
STREET ADJACENT TO LOT 1, BLOCK 8, AND LOT 11,
BLOCK 7, ECHO HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED,
ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION
OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN
SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described portion of Hughes Street
be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently
vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or char-
acter whatever:
The west 20 feet adjacent to Lot 1, Block 8, and
the east 10 feet adjacent to Lot 11, Block 7,
Echo Heights Addition to the City of Fort Worth,
Tarrant County, Texas, from Pecos Street south
to Tract 1 of the M. J. Brittain Survey.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to
the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert
to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage.

WILKES CA %Idallion Builders, Ltd. has requested the City to vacate a portion of Hughes
Street, described as the west 20 feet adjacent to Lot 1, Block 8, and the east
10 feet adjacent to Lot 11, Block 7 of Echo Heights Addition from Pecos Street
Ay south to Tract 1 of the M. J. Brittain Survey, as shown on the attached map.
Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication is unimproved. If this request is t
granted, the Applicant intends to plat the vacated right-of-way with adjoining
property.
The remaining 20 feet right-of-way is being retained by the City for public
pedestrian access to City park property; and, for drainage and utility facilities
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and
have no objections provided the Applicant plats the vacated right-of-way with
adjoining property and provides all necessary drainage and utility easements.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an
ordinance vacating the public right-of-way. The applicant has submitted a replat
which incorporates the conditions requested by the City Departments and private
utility companies.
Amendment to Community Facilities Agreement No. 6435
(a) On January 19, 1970 by M&C C-1655, the City Council approved the execution
of a community facilities agreement for portions of Blocks 2,6,7,8,9-R, Echo
Heights Addition. This agreement covered the improvements of Hughes Street
in that area that has been requested to be vacated.
Recommendations
1) An ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as recommended
by the City Plan Commission; and

2) That Community Facilities Agreement No. 6435, be amended to reflect
subject vacation.
