AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING
(A) HOWE STREET IN THE 1800 BLOCK A WIDTH
VARIABLE FROM THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF
WEST VICKERY BLVD. IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION
TO THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY OF GRANBURY ROAD;
(B) EIGHTH AVENUE IN THE 1800 BLOCK A WIDTH
VARIABLE FROM THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF
WEST VICKERY BLVD. IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION
TO THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY OF GRANBURY ROAD;
(C) GRANBURY ROAD IN THE 1500-1600 BLOCKS A
WIDTH VARIABLE FROM A NORTH/SOUTH LINE 92.59'
WEST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT A, BLOCK 2,
JOHN A. THORNTON SUBDIVISION ACCORDING TO A
PLAT RECORDED IN VOLUME 388-58, PAGE 218, DEED
RECORDS, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, IN AN EASTERLY
AND NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION TO THE INTERSECTION
WITH HOWE STREET AND A LINE BEING AN EXTENSION
OF THE WESTERLY LINE OF LOT 9, BLOCK 27,
R. E. BECKHAM SUBDIVISION; (D) AN ALLEY IN
BLOCK 27, R. E. BECKHAM SUBDIVISION ADJACENT
TO LOTS 4 AND 6 OF SAID BLOCK 27 FROM THE SOUTH
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF WEST VICKERY BLVD. IN AN
EASTERLY DIRECTION TO THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY
LINE OF HOWE STREET; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF FEE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the following streets and alley, particularly
described as:
(a) Howe Street in the 1800 block a width
variable from the south right-of-way
line of West Vickery Blvd. in a southerly
direction to the north right-of-way of
Granbury Road;
(b) Eighth Avenue in the 1800 block a width variable
from the south right-of-way line of West
Vickery Blvd. in a southerly direction to
the north right-of-way of Granbury Road;
(c) Granbury Road in the 1500-1600 blocks a
width variable from a north/south line
92.59' west of the northeast corner of
of Lot A, Block 2, John A. Thornton
Subdivision according to a plat recorded
in Volume 388-58, Page 218, Deed Records
Tarrant County, Texas, in an easterly
and northeasterly direction to the inter-
section with Howe Street and a line being
an extension of the westerly line of Lot 9,
Block 27, R. E. Beckham Subdivision; and
(d) An alley in Block 27, R. E. Beckham Sub-
division adjacent to lots 4 and 6 of said
Block 27 from the south right-of-way line
of West Vickery Blvd. in an easterly
direction to the west right-of-way line of
Howe Street,
be and the same are hereby vacated, abandoned and permanently
closed as rights-of-way for street and alley purposes.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described streets
and alley is hereby released and will revert to the adjacent
owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT THAT easements are
reserved therein for any and all existing utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so
ordained.

Street and 1500-1600 block Granbury Ave.
Kenneth Garrett, Jr. , and Rosemary Haws, with consent of all abutting owners,
have requested that the City vacate the following streets and alley:
1. Howe Street in the 1800 block a width variable from the south right-
of-way line of West Vickery Blvd. in a southerly direction to the
north right-of-way of Granbury Road.
2. Eighth Avenue in the 1800 block a width variable from the south
right-of-way line of West Vickery Blvd. in a southerly direction
to the north right-of-way of Granbury Road.
3. Granbury Road in the 1500-1600 blocks a width variable from a
north/south line 92.59' west of the northwest corner of Lot A,
Block 2, John A. Thornton Subdivision according to a plat
recorded in Volume 388-58, Page 218, DRTCT, in a easterly and
northeasterly direction to the intersection with Howe Street and
a line being an extension of the westerly line of Lot 9, Block 27,
R.E. Beckham Subdivision.
4. An alley in Block 27, R. E. Beckham Subdivision, adjacent to Lots 4
and 6 of Block 27 from the south right-of-wap line of West Vickery
Blvd. in an easterly direction to the west right-of-way line of Howe
St.
The subject street and alley rights-of way are illustrated on the attached maps.
Eighth Avenue is paved with curb and gutter on the east line; Howe Street is
paved with curb and gutter on the west; Granbd{y Avenue is paved with curb and
gutter at the west end, but is unpaved at the east end; the alley is open but
unpaved. 0-#*

The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends its approval
subject to conditions. These conditions have now been satisfied.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject right-of-way
as requested.
