BE IT 0_RDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO1MISSION3mRS OF THE CIT' ' OF FORT WORTH, T'ITMS: Section 1; That there is hereby levied and shall be collected as provided by law an annual, diredt,opecial ad valorem tax for the year 1914, for the Improvement of Str"ta- and thoroughfares of the Cit"f- Fort Worth of 10 cants on every 4100.00 valuatiin on all property, real, person& and mixed situated in' all personal property .owned fn�ths said City of Fort Worth, on the first day of January A D 1914, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas. Section 2; Upon the requisition of the Board of School TrusteaS of the independent school district of the City of Fort Worth,and in conform- itAwith said Baord's certificate to that effect, that bboro is also hereby levied and there shall be collected as provided by law an annual, direct special ad valorem tax for the year 1914, for public school pwrposes, of 45 cents on every $100.00 valuation on all property real, personal and mixed et4ihated in, and all personal property owned in, the City of Fort Worth,on the first day of January A D 1914, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas. Section 3; That there is also hereby levied and there shall be collected as provided by law an annual direct, special ad valorem tax for the year 1914, for the support and maintenance of a free public library in the City of Fort Worth of two cents on every $100.00 valuation an all property, real, personal and mixed, situated in, and all personal propi!rV owned in the City of Fort Worth, on the first day of January A D 1914,li" able under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas. Section 4; That there is alsyy hereby levied and there shall be collected as provided by law an annual Airect, special ad valorem tax for the year 1914, for the use and benefit of the park fund of the City of Fort Worth, of 10 cents on every #100.00 valuation on all property, real personal and mixed, situated in,and all personll property owned in the City of Fort Worth,on the first day of January A D 1914, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas. Sectio n 8; That those special tax levies whick are hereinbefore made to provide for the payment of interest and to create a sinkinti fund or to discharge and pay principal and interest of any obligation due or owing by said City of Fort Wert*re not to be taken ae in addition to lea vies for the same purposes made in the respective ordinances authorizing al and creating such obligatione,but the loyies hereinbefore made are made pursuant to and for the purpose of carrying out and complying with the pro- visions of said prior ordinances, and all ad valorem taxes herein are levid upon all the taxable property, real, personal amd mixed , situated in, and P.11 pe"orsa ropes► caned in the City of Fort Worth as assessed, valued and described 'iThe assessment, tax-rolls and tax-books of said L'i'ty of Fort Wort*t r the year 1914, as the same have been presented to the Board of Commissioners of the, said City of Fort Worth by the assessor and collector of taxes of said City. Section 9;That the taxes herein levied and authorized and required .to be collected shall be and become due and payable on September lst,1914, but the same shall not be construed to be delinquent so as to incur penalty thereon until February let�1915, on which said date and thereafter, in the event of default in payment, said penalty, as hereinafter set out, sly accrujand be attached to, and become a part of the total amount to be id by de saulting end delinquent taxpayers. Section 10; That the 31st day of January A D 1915, is hereby fixes ed as the final day upon which taxes shall be paid to the City of Fort Werth, without the imposition of penalties, but it is further provided thtt each and every person, firm, association or corporation paying and dis- charging in full his, their, or its City taxes , as hereby fix-sed and lovid on or before September 15th,1914, shall be allowed a rebate or discount of three per cent of the full amount thereof, and by paying the same as afore- said afterSeptember 15th,1914, and before October lst,1914, shall be allow- ed a rebate of two per cent thereof as aforesaid,. Section 11; That on and after February lst,1915, all such taxes hereinbeffre levied, as remkin unpwid, as required herein to be paint on or before January 31s 915, shall be de*m*olinquent and there shall be added thereto a penalty Ff one per cent per month or part of month, upon the full amount of such unptLd taxes for the time the same shall remain unpaid. Said penalty of one pernt per month shall be added to said taxeArupon the lot day pf February, 191P and upon hhe first day of each and every month there after until taxes shall have been aaid,which penalty shall be and become a part of said taxes and be payable as such, and provided further that in the event of publication of delinquent tax lists, or if suit is broght to revoe er such taxes and penalty the delinquent tax-payer shall be and become liable therefor and the property of such taxpayer shall be subject to the payment of said taxee,penalties and costs, and the same shall be and become a lain upon the property of such tax-payer, as prescribed by law. Section 12; That thio ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage as provided by law. I hereby certify that the above and foregoing ordinance was duly peesented and unanimously passed and adopted by the Board of Conmissioners of the City of Fort Werth at a regular session of said Board held the 25th day of August A D '1914.
