HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16676-11-2005Ordinance No J (Q~ ~ ~ - I ~ ~ ~®.r AN ORDINANCE INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CULTURE AND TOURISM FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $69 600 AND DECREASING THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE BY THE SAME AMOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSFERRING SAID FUNDS TO THE SPECIALLY FUNDED CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND• MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2005- 2006 in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased appropriations in the Culture and Tourism Fund in the amount of $69 600 and decreasing the unreserved fund balance by the same amount, for the purpose of transferring said funds to the Specially Funded Capital Projects Fund SECTION 2 That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction such decision opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 16582 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such. other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 ADOPTED AND EFFECTIVE. ~Dt/Qi+~- b:~.r I , ;~,~~ This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption Page 1 of 2 City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication COUNCIL ACTION Approved on 11/1/2005 Ordinance No 16676-11 2005 ~ Ordinance No 16677 11-2005 DATE Tuesday November 01 2005 LOG NAME 20RODEOPLAZA1 REFERENCE NO *C-21115 SUBJECT Adopt Appropriation Ordinances and Authorize Execution of an Amendment to a Delivery Order under the City's Annual Architectural Services Agreement with Huitt Zollars Inc for Design Services to Develop a More Pedestrian-Friendly Rodeo Plaza RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Adopt attached appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations in the Culture and Tourism Fund by $69 600 and decreasing the unreserved fund balance by the same amount; 2. Authorize the transfer of $69 600 from the Culture and Tourism Fund to the Specially Funded Capital Projects Fund 3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Specially Funded Capital Projects Fund by $69 600 from available funds, and 4 Authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to a Delivery Order in the amount of $57 600 under the City's Annual Architectural Services Agreement with Huitt Zollars, Inc. for design services to develop a more pedestrian-friendly Rodeo Plaza. DISCUSSION On May 3 2005 (M&C C-20692) the City Council approved a Delivery Order under the City's Annual Architectural Services Agreement with Huitt Zollars Inc. for design services to develop a more pedestrian- friendly Rodeo Plaza, The MSC authorized $31 700 for design and $8 000 for contingencies and project management, for a total of $39 700 During the 'stakeholders meeting for this project, the property owners indicated that they wanted to participate in the total Rodeo Plaza area development, from East Exchange Boulevard on the south to Stockyards Boulevard on the north and possibly provide construction funds for the Rodeo Plaza area along Billy Bob s to Stockyards Boulevard The original scope was from East Exchange Boulevard to the south end of Billy Bob s The revised scope will include the schematic design phase for the northern Rodeo Plaza area and a larger covered workout corral area and a new focal point near the corral The construction documents phase will include the areas where funds are available both from the City and property owners. The cost of the Delivery Order for the development and design of the Rodeo Plaza renovation including this amendment, is $89 300 In addition to the contractual design costs, $20 000 is included for design contingencies and project management. On November 1 2005 (M&C C-21116) for $30,210 for the property ownership and floodplain determination and survey is also being submitted The cost of the http.//www cfwnet.org/council~acket/Reports/mc~rint.asp 11/7/2005 Page 2 of 2 construction portion of the renovation is contingent upon the scope of the final project development and design Huitt Zollars, Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 20% M/WBE participation on its annual contract.
