APP ED AS TO F City Attorney TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: We the undersigned owners of Lot # 6 and Lot # 12 South Half of Block 54 as shown in dedication and plat filed in the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, Volume 1117, page 233, June 18, 1930, which Lots are the adjoining and abutting property to a dedicated but unused portion of ALTA AVENUE in the South Half of Block 54, River Crest Addition, do hereby petition this Body to reduce the width of said Alta Avenue to conform to plat thereof prepared by Brooks Baker, Survey- or, December 14, 1951. It is respectfully pointed out that this portion of Alta Avenue, hereby sought to be vacated, since its dedication, more than twanty years ago, has been unused and is a useless and unnecessary waste of property, which would otherwise be subject to taxation, and Further, since the dedication of ALTA DRIVE, an extension of said Alta Avenue to the North, made in conformity with good taste and planning, as approved April 4, 1950 by the City Plan Commission, this portion of Alta Avenue, hereby sought to be vacated, will never serve any public use; and that Alta Avenue, if narrowed in accordance with this petition, will be Eighty (80) feet wide at its widest point, and Fifty (50) wide at its narrowest point, which will be more than ample for all present and future uses as a street, and Further, if said portion of Alta Avenue is not vacated as herein requested, the street line thereof will present an unsightly and unconforming front line to an otherwise very beautiful and complimentary addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas. It is therefore respectfully requested that this Honorable Body ordain that Alta Avenue be narrowed in accordance with the attached surveyor's plat, and that such portion of said street deleted therefrom be vacated, abandoned and closed with the fee thereto reverting to the adjacent owners as provided by law. Respectfully Submitted Stanley A. 17AOM.Pson et ux ra L.
