AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING QUEEN STREET IN THE 1700 BLOCK, A WIDTH OF 50 FEET AND A LENGTH OF 650 FEET FROM KEMBLE STREET SOUTH TO BARNETT STREET; RICE LANE IN THE 4900 BLOCK, A WIDTH OF 50 FEET AND A LENGTH OF 120 FEET FROM QUEEN STREET EASTWARD 120 FEET TO OUT LOT A-R-2, BLOCK "D", BROAD ACRES ADDITION; AND A 10 FOOT UTILITY EASEMENT LOCATED ALONG THE COMMON LOT LINE OF LOTS 1 AND 1.5, BLOCK "D", BROAD ACRES ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Queen Street in the 1700 Block, a width of 50 feet and a length of 650 feet from Kemble Street south to Barnett Street; Rice Lane in the 4900 Block, a width of 50 feet and a length of 120 feet from Queen Street eastward 120 feet to Out Lot A-R-2, Block "D", Broad Acres Addition; and a 10 foot utility easement located along the common lot line of Lots 1 and 15, Block "D", Broad Acres Addition be and the same are hereby vacated, abandoned and permanently closed for street right-of-way and utility easement purposes. SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described rights-of- way and easement is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are retained for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. The subject street rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are not open and contain no existing utility facilities. Presently the subject easement con- tains no utility facilities and was requested for vacation to permit its relocation. Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections to this request provided the vacated rights-of-way are replatted with abutting property; and the vacated streets are physically closed with standard curb and gutter at each terminus where needed, when adjoining streets are improved. A satisfactory replat has been submitted. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the subject street rights-of-wap and 10' utility easement be vacated as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that the subject street rif?hts-of-way and 10' utility easement be vacated.
