HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2031 ORDINANCE NO.10 An Ordinance providing that Interurban Street from the east property line of Grafton Street to its termi- nation approximately one-hundred thirty-three (133) feet east of Grafton Street, be abandoned, vacated and closed, reserving an easement for existing public utilities in and along such street and providing for the reversion of the fee to said land; WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Fort Worth that the hereinafter described street, although duly dedicated and accepted for use by the public, has in fact never been used by the public and that it is to the best interests of the public that said street be closed, abandoned and vacated as a public thoroughfare and the fee to the land in said street revert as provided by law. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas: Section One That the following described street and portions of streets be and the same are hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as public streets or thoroughfares of any kind whatsoever: "That certain tract or parcel of land out of the T. Sanderson survey same being that portion of Interurban Street from the East line of Grafton Street East approximately 133 ft.; said street being shown on a map of the Interurban Addition to the City of Fort Worth recorded in Plat Book No, 204, Page 11 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas. Said property being more particularly des- cribed as follows: "Beginning at point in the East line of Grafton Street, said point being 32 ft. South of the South curb line of East Lancaster Avenue; thence in an Easterly direction parallel to and 32 ft. Bouth of t said curb line 133 ft. more or less to a point in the West line of that tract of land conveyed to the Northern Texas Traction Company by L. D. Cobb by Warranty Deed dated May 12, 1902, recorded in Vol. 167, Page 201 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas; thence in a Southerly direction along the said West line 70 ft. to a point in the North line of Lot 31, Block 1, Interurban Addition to the City of Fort Wor-th, to stake for corner; thence North 86 deg. 36 min. West along the North line of said lot 12 ft. more or less to a point in the East line of Lot 25, Block 1 of said addition, to stake for corner; thence in a Northerly direc- tion along the East line of said lot 30.2 ft. to a stake in the Northeast corner of said lot; thence in a Westerly direction along the North line of Lot 25, Block 1 of said addition, 121 ft* to a point in the East line of Grafton Street, said point being the Northwest corner of said lot; thence in a Northerly direction along the East line of Grafton Street 40 ft. to place of beginning." Section Two That an easement for existing public utilities now occupying the land hereinabove described is reserved in, along and under such land, Section Three That the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and will revert to the owners as provided by law. Section Four That all ordinances or parts of� ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed* Section Five This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
