DISCUSSION
On November 9 2004 (M&C C-20400) the City Council authorized the City Manager to accept a grant from
the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the amount of $325 000 for the development of an
Airport Systems Plan. The City's 10% share was $32,500 After negotiations with the consultant, the state
increased the amount of the grant offer to $353 750 As a result, the City's share has increased to $35 375
The purpose of the Airport Systems Plan is to provide Fort Worth with a growth and marketing strategy for
developing the City's three airports. Alliance Meacham International and Spinks Airports are all
conveniently located adjacent to the commercial corridor The challenge for the City is to connect and grow
all three airports in a way that encourages a systems approach to providing airport services. The Airport
Systems Plan will address this challenge
Alliance and Meacham International Airports are located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.
Spinks Airport is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8
