HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16132~\.©~L./ Ordinance No AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,576 AS DONATIONS ARE RECEIVED FROM THE FULLER FOUNDATION, INC FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDIN G FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, THE MAINTENANCE OF THE FULLER GARDEN MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2004- 2005 in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $83 576 as donations are received from the Fuller Foundation Inc. for the purpose of funding, for a period of one year the maintenance of the Fuller Garden SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be incorporated into the ordinance effecting the budget of the municipal government of the City of Fort Worth for the ensuing Fiscal Year beginning October 1 2004 and ending September 30 2005, and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund by $83 576 00 DISCUSSION The Fuller Garden is a three and one-half acre garden located west of the Botanic Garden Center and Conservatory It was a gift from the Fuller Foundation which has underwritten all maintenance costs since the garden opened to the public in 1991 The Foundation has announced a gift of $83 576 00 to the Parks and Community Services Department to fund for one year the salary and benefits for one Gardener and one Senior Maintenance Worker position as well as maintenance supplies, equipment and utilities to maintain the Fuller Garden The Foundation has announced its intention to continue the funding of these positions, supplies, equipment and utilities for the maintenance of this garden The City will collect funds each quarter from the Foundation This project is located in City Council District 7 FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION The .Finance Director certifies that upon adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated of the Special Trust Fund The Parks and Community Services department is responsible for the collection and deposit of these funds.
