ORDINANCE NO. / ~" ~ ~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION
OF FERRIS STREET BETWEEN LOT 1 BLOCK 14 AND LOT 8
BLOCK 15 OF THE CANDON TEXAS TARRANT COUNTY
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY
TEXAS, AND BEING APPROXIMATELY 136 FT LONG AND 59 FT
WIDE AND CONTAINING 8,256 SQUARE FEET MORE OR LESS,
PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND• THE
RETAINMENT OF EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS, REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
That a portion of Fems Street between Lot 1 Block 14 and Lot 8, Block 15 of the
Candon Texas Tarrant County Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas, being
approximately 136 feet long and 59 ft wide and containing approximately containing
approximately 8,256 square feet, more or less, and as more specifically described m Exhibit A
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above-described street and alley nghts-of way is
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all
utilities located in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION-
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a portion of Ferris Street
between Lot 1 Block 14 and Lot 8 Block 15 of the Candon Texas Tarrant County Addition being
approximately 136 feet long and 59 ft wide and containing approximately containing approximately 8,256
square feet.
DISCUSSION
Adoption of the attached. ordinance would vacate a portion of Ferris Street between Lot 1 Block 14 and Lot
8 Block 15 of the Candon Texas Tarrant County Addition being approximately 136 feet long and 59 ft wide
and containing approximately containing approximately 8 256 square feet. Don Peebles of Peebles and
Associates, acting on behalf of Palisade Investments, LP has requested vacation of the above referenced
Street in order to create a building lot out of the land as shown on the attached plat of Lot 9 Block 14
Candon Texas Tarrant County Addition (see Attachment B) The Engineering Department, Real Property
Services Division states that the purchase fee of $3 302 40 has been paid Reviewing City departments
and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. The City Plan Commission
recommended approval of this request at its meeting on October 27 2004 Any existing utilities will be
relocated at the applicant's expense An acceptable replat has been received
