neighborhood streets to supplement the 1998 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) The 1998 CIP
included funds for reconstruction of Wimberly Street from Merrimac Street to Wingate Street, Contract
30 The Water Department has determined that the existing sanitary sewer main in this street needs to be
replaced prior to street reconstruction.

After review of all bid proposals staff recommends Alternate B (concrete) for construction since the
additional cost to construct the street in concrete is only 2.9% greater than the asphalt bid price and will
result in lower long term maintenance costs over the street's useful life.
McClendon Construction Company Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing
to 46% M/WBE participation The City's goal on this project is 16%
In addition to the contract amount, $6 876 00 is needed for sanitary sewer line construction inspection and
survey Contingency funds are also included to cover change orders for sanitary sewer line improvements
($6 000 00) and pavement and storm drains improvements ($6 000 00)
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9 Mapsco 62X.
